Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTION

Responsible for lab operations with WWW suppliers in Asia ensuring they provide a World Class externally accredited testing service to WWW with reliable evaluation of the fitness-for-purpose of materials and finished product. Also ensuring strict compliance through testing with restricted substance and other legal requirements of the markets WWW supplies.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Continual development of testing and footwear technology knowledge including relevant compliance requirements to keep abreast of changes and developments.

Identify appropriate expansion of partner testing capabilities to meet the demands of our ever-changing product range.

Ensure vendors are in compliance with the laboratory Quality Management System (ISO 17025) at all times so as to maintain SATRA accreditation.

Provide our internal and external customers, Product Engineering teams, Quality Assurance teams, factories and material suppliers with reliable footwear and materials testing knowledge using appropriate test procedures.

Provide reliable test result interpretation and risk assessment of products and technologies.

Publish Wolverine Test Supplements to ensure that any unconventional use of test methods or interpretation of application is standardized.

Ensure reliable testing by our partner factory and supplier labs through training and auditing of their laboratories and test methods.

Continual development, configuration and enhancement of the web-based WWW test data reporting and storage system. Ensure vendors are trained and are using the system accurately and efficiently..

Continual review and development of WWW performance standards.

Actively participate and contribute to tear product Development tear down meetings.

Performs duties consistent with the companys AAP/EEO goals and policies.

Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

5+ years experience in footwear technology

Knowledge of laboratory operation (ISO 17025, test methods and machines, performance standards and risk assessment).

Knowledge of footwear compliance requirements such as CPSIA, safety footwear standards and restricted substances.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good oral and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Laboratory and factory environment. Travel will be required.
