We are hiring a Junior Data Scientist / Data Scientist to join Masan's central Data team, contributing to large-scale data initiatives across Retail, FMCG, Supply Chain, and Consumer platforms.

You will work closely with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, and business stakeholders to develop practical machine learning solutions that create measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business problems into analytical and machine learning approaches
- Develop and evaluate models such as:
- Forecasting & demand prediction
- Customer segmentation & scoring
- Recommendation or ranking models
- Work with structured and large datasets to extract insights
- Support model training, validation, and performance monitoring
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalable implementation
- Communicate findings and technical trade-offs clearly to stakeholders
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Analytics, or related roles
- (Outstanding fresh graduates with strong academic credentials are encouraged to apply)
- Strong academic foundation in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics Engineering, or related quantitative fields
- Graduated from reputable technical universities or rigorous academic programs with strong GPA or demonstrated academic excellence

- Research publications
- National / international competitions (e.g., data science, programming, mathematics)
- Top performance in challenging academic environments
- Solid foundation in statistics, probability, linear algebra, and algorithms
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with ML libraries (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Good understanding of SQL and data manipulation (Pandas)
- Strong problem-solving mindset and structured thinking
- High learning agility and intellectual curiosity
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Preferred
- Experience building ML models for real-world or production use cases
- Familiarity with Spark / PySpark or distributed data processing
- Exposure to ML deployment concepts (MLflow, APIs, Docker)
- Experience in FMCG, Retail, Supply Chain, or other consumer-focused domains
