Job Summary:
We're looking for a Senior Jira Administrator to own and scale Jira as an enterprise delivery platform for a 7001000+ user organization, driving automation, reporting, and delivery reliability across teams.
This is a platform ownership role, not basic system administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Jira Platform Ownership & Governance
- Own Jira (Cloud or Data Center) as a business-critical platform
- Define and enforce standards for workflows, schemes, permissions, and project structures
- Ensure Jira performance, stability, and scalability at enterprise scale
- Balance team autonomy with global governance and consistency
Automation & Workflow Enablement
- Design and maintain advanced Jira automations
- Eliminate manual delivery tracking and coordination
- Continuously improve workflows to support predictable delivery and quality
Reporting, Metrics & Data
- Build and maintain delivery and executive dashboards
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of Jira data across teams
- Enable reporting on delivery predictability, throughput, dependencies, and readiness
- Partner with Delivery and Leadership to define meaningful metrics
Data Extraction & Integrations
- Enable Jira data extraction via APIs, plugins, or BI integrations
- Support historical analysis, forecasting, and cross-initiative insights
- Manage Jira integrations with tools such as Confluence, Git, CI/CD, and test management systems
Plugins, Support & Enablement
- Evaluate, implement, and maintain Jira Marketplace plugins
- Provide Tier-3 Jira support for complex issues
- Train and enable PMs, DMs, Tech Leads, and power users
- Maintain Jira usage guidelines and best practices
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Jira Administration experience in large organizations
- Proven experience supporting hundreds of users and complex project setup
- Expert knowledge of Jira workflows, permissions, automation, and reporting
- Strong experience with Jira data extraction and APIs
- Solid understanding of Agile and scaled delivery models
Preferred
- Experience in gaming, or regulated environments
- Scripting experience (e.g. ScriptRunner, Groovy)
- Experience integrating Jira with BI or data platforms
