Job Description

Introduction: Established in late 2022, Wicom is a startup in the field of Technology and cross-border e-commerce, focusing on Print-on-Demand products for the US market, with Amazon as the main sales channel.

Achievements: After three years of operation, Wicom has had 5 successful brands, owning many Top 10 listings across various industries, achieving millions of dollars in revenue.

Need: Wicom is looking for young people who are responsible, eager to learn, have a spirit of sharing, and constantly strive to overcome their own limits.

We are looking for our first Dev Leader to join Wicom's Engineering team and help build a multi-channel POS platform and real-time data streaming systems at scale. This is a foundational role that combines hands-on technical leadership with shaping team culture, processes, and ways of working from the ground up. We are not looking for someone who only wants to code or only wants to manage. We are looking for a well-rounded technical leader who can design scalable systems, lead people effectively, and turn complex business needs into practical, long-term solutions.

Tech Stack:

  • Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Redis, ClickHouse
  • Frontend: Angular, Bootstrap
  • Infrastructure/Platform: Docker, Microservices Architecture, Event-Driven Systems, CI/CD, Monitoring & Performance Tuning

Job responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and review scalable and maintainable backend services that align with business needs and long-term architectural vision.
  • Lead technical decisions on microservices, event-driven flows, streaming pipelines, and data processing.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical debt, system bottlenecks, and scalability risks.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into practical technical solutions.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards for code quality, code reviews, testing, documentation, and delivery discipline.
  • Mentor, coach, and support the professional growth of engineers at all levels.

You need:

1. Technical Must-Have:

  • 6+ years of real-world software engineering experience. At least 3+ years in a Tech Lead/Engineering Lead or equivalent leadership role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot.
  • Deep experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka — including designing event flows, high-throughput data streams, reliability, retry mechanisms, idempotency, and fault tolerance.
  • Solid expertise in system design, scalability, performance optimization, observability, and resilient systems.
  • Proven experience raising code quality and engineering practices across a team.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical/high-performance databases.
  • Previous experience building streaming or real-time data pipelines.
  • Background in POS, retail, omnichannel commerce, or operational platforms.
  • Experience setting up CI/CD, monitoring, and observability from an early stage.

Working time:

  • Monday to Friday: from 8:00 am to 05:30 pm
