Job Description: IT Digital and Data Strategy Lead

As a strategic leader within L'Oréal Vietnam, the
IT Digital and Data Strategy Lead will drive the identification, development, and implementation of transformative digital solutions, enterprise applications, and data-driven initiatives. You will serve as a trusted advisor, bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution. This role goes beyond technical management to lead comprehensive digital transformation, AI architecture, and business partnership.
Strategic Business Advisory & Partnership
- Serve as a strategic partner to key business stakeholders across all divisions and corporate functions, translating business needs into feasible digital initiatives.
- Act as the market authority on Data, Digital, Cloud, and AI capabilities relevant to L'Oréal.
- Champion Global First solutions, ensuring alignment with Global IT and One L'Oréal Data strategy while justifying local adaptations for value.
- Define and implement data governance policies across L'Oréal Vietnam to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Support leadership decision-making at the ManCom level through structured recommendations and business-oriented storytelling.
Project Leadership & Deployment Oversight
- Lead selected strategic data, digital, or AI initiatives from design to deployment.
- Coordinate delivery teams, technology vendors, and Global/Zone partners to ensure timely execution and value realization.
- Provide transparent communication on project progress, risks, and business impact to the Management Committee.
- Supervise the deliverables of IT consultants and contractors, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Act as the primary security and risk advisor for all digital and AI initiatives.
- Coordinate robust security measures to ensure compliance with L'Oréal's cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory standards.
- Proactively identify vulnerabilities in collaboration with IT security teams.
AI Enablement & Capability Building
- Promote responsible AI adoption in line with Group ethical principles.
- Design and deliver AI awareness sessions and enablement workshops for business and IT users.
- Reference and mentor IT teams on data platforms, cloud architecture, and AI patterns to raise overall organizational maturity.
- Key Interactions
- Internal: Business Division Leaders (LTM), Zone counterparts, and Management Committee (Mancom).
- External: Technology vendors, IT consultants, and external contractors.
- Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Engineering, Data, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive responsibility in IT, Digital, Data, and AI.
- Track Record: Proven success in leading large-scale digital transformation projects and data/AI initiatives within a matrix organization.
- Language: Native/Professional fluency in Vietnamese and fluent in English.
Technical Expertise (Architecture & Strategy Level)
- In-depth understanding of Data on Cloud architectures (Data Lakes, Warehouses, ETL/ELT) on major providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong conceptual understanding of AI/GenAI concepts and cloud ecosystems.
- Ability to evaluate solution architectures and technology stacks proposed by Global or external vendors.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable and secure technical solutions.
- Influence: Comfortable influencing senior leadership through structured reasoning and credibility.
- Agility: Familiarity with Agile/hybrid delivery models.
- Communication: Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple, business-friendly language.
