Job Description – International Purchasing Specialist (Wood Materials)
Position Information
- Position: International Purchasing Specialist
- Department: Purchasing / Supply Chain
- Report to: Purchasing Manager / Supply Chain Manager
- Working Location: Linh Trung 2 Export Processing Zone
Job Responsibilities
1. Supplier Sourcing & Development
- Search for, evaluate, and develop overseas wood material suppliers from the US, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and other markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers to ensure stable, competitive, and high-quality material supply.
- Monitor wood market trends, material pricing, lead times, and supply conditions to support purchasing plans.
2. International Purchasing Operations
- Receive purchasing plans from Planning/Production departments.
- Handle RFQs, negotiate pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Issue and follow up Purchase Orders (POs), production progress, and shipment schedules.
- Coordinate with Forwarders, Import-Export, and Warehouse teams to ensure on-time delivery.
3. Documentation & Cost Control
- Review and manage purchasing documents including PI, Contract, Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (BL), CO, CQ, etc.
- Control purchasing costs, logistics expenses, and related issues during the import process.
- Coordinate with Accounting to monitor supplier payments and outstanding balances.
4. Internal Coordination & Issue Handling
- Work closely with Planning, Warehouse, Production, QA/QC, and Import-Export departments.
- Support in handling issues related to material quality, shortages, or shipment delays.
- Propose solutions to optimize purchasing costs and improve supply stability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or College degree in Import-Export, Logistics, International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
- 5 years of experience in international purchasing, preferably in the wood, furniture, or raw material industry.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers, especially from the US, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia, is an advantage.
- Good English communication skills, including email writing, negotiation, and direct communication with foreign suppliers.
- Good understanding of Incoterms, import procedures, and international trade documentation.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel and data management.

Working Time
- Monday – Friday and 1 Saturday/month
- Working hours: 08:00 – 17:00
