Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an International Buyer (Garment) with a strong background ingarment buying, trading, or business development. In this role, you will lead international negotiations with suppliers (primarily in Asia) to secure the best overstock deals for resale in the EU. Your commercial acumen in the apparel industry will be key to unlocking new supplier networks, optimizing costs, and driving profitability.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Negotiation & Strategy

  • Build and execute negotiation strategies based on market trends and company objectives
  • Lead negotiations with international suppliers to obtain the most favorable terms
  • Ensure contracts meet financial, legal, and operational standards

Market & Supplier Analysis

  • Analyze product trends in the French market and prepare briefs for your assigned Prospector(s)
  • Monitor supplier performance: product quality, lead time, reliability
  • Track and optimize buying performance using data

Collaboration & Business Development

  • Work closely with your assigned Prospector(s) on a daily basis
  • Provide clear business briefs and conduct formal debriefs on each opportunity
  • Handle end-to-end negotiation: sending offers, tracking performance, validating deals
  • Collaborate with internal departments: Supply Chain, Quality Control, Logistics

Operational & Trade Fair Participation

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
  • Track the purchasing process from order to delivery
  • Represent Ozeol at international trade fairs when required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; background in Merchandising, Fashion, or Garment is a must.
  • Minimum 3 yearsof relevant experience in the garment industry, with a strong preference for candidates from a manufacturing or trading background.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep knowledge of merchandising/purchasing process and excel at new supplier development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to collaborate across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Willing to travel occasionally as business requires.
