Mold Design Engineer / Tooling Leader
Primary Purpose:
Support the mold design team in creating, modifying, and improving mold designs for injection and over-molding processes. Assist engineers in preparing technical drawings, evaluating mold trials, and implementing design improvements to ensure quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Design Support:
- Assist in creating or revising 3D/2D mold drawings using CAD software (NX, SolidWorks).
- Reconstruct missing mold drawings for transferred molds.
- Prepare documentation for mold trials and evaluations.
2.Technical Assistance:
- Collaborate with engineers to propose solutions for mold defects and improvements.
- Participate in mold trial activities, including data collection and analysis.
3.Continuous Learning:
- Learn and apply new mold technologies (e.g., hot runner, over-molding).
- Support design reviews and discussions with suppliers and internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Education: Undergraduate/fresh graduate in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferably with a focus on material or mold design).
- Skills:
+ Basic knowledge of mold design principles and injection molding processes.
+ Proficiency in CAD software (NX preferred; SolidWorks acceptable).
+ Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively.
- Language: English or Japanese communication skills.
