What You'll Do
- Support the full hosting migration from VMware server-side infrastructure to Nutanix, including building the new environment alongside the current one and executing staged migrations.
- Participate in network redesign during migration, including deploying new Cisco Nexus/Catalyst switches, restructuring routing (VLAN, static routing), and configuring new firewall rules.
- Support and rebuild the Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon) VDI environment, including gold image creation, desktop pool redeployment, backend components (Connection Servers, UAGs), and access control configuration.
- Maintain and troubleshoot a large-scale on-prem environment (:30 ESXi hosts, :750 virtual desktops, :600 concurrent users), ensuring performance stability and minimal business disruption.
- Provide Level 3 infrastructure support, acting as the final escalation layer for networking, firewall, virtualization, and performance-related incidents.
- Diagnose and resolve network congestion, storage limitations, and performance bottlenecks caused by legacy infrastructure constraints.
- Support enterprise firewall operations (Checkpoint clusters Gaia management) and assist with SD-WAN where required.
- Handle BAU infrastructure tickets while balancing project responsibilities.
Key Criteria
- 35+ years of hands-on networking experience
- Strong Cisco data center networking experience, specifically with Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst
- Solid hands-on experience with VLANs and static routing
- Ability to operate at Level 3 troubleshooting capability
- CCNA-level knowledge and experience
- Experience working with enterprise firewalls, with Checkpoint (Gaia-managed clusters) preferred; Palo Alto or Fortinet acceptable if strong enterprise firewall fundamentals are demonstrated.
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience with VMware Horizon / Omnissa Horizon VDI, including (Connection Servers, UAGs, Gold images, Desktop pools, Access control configurations,..)
- Experience supporting a large-scale VDI environment
Work setup
Ho Chi Minh City (Ree Tower, Xom Chieu Ward): Vietnam business hours (9AM - 6PM). Hybrid with 1 day/week in the office (Thursday)
