Information Technology Application Specialist

1. Job Purpose

The IT Application Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the stable, secure, and continuous operation of the company's applications and supporting systems.

In addition to core application operations, this role applies advanced DevOps practices to enhance system reliability, automation, deployment efficiency, and monitoring in a mission-critical enterprise environment.

2. Key Responsibilities

· Ensure company applications operate stably, securely, and continuously in accordance with business and regulatory requirements.

· Monitor application health, performance, and availability; proactively identify and resolve issues.

· Troubleshoot and analyze application and database-related incidents involving MS SQL, DB2, Informix, and Oracle.

· Coordinate with application vendors to investigate incidents, apply fixes, and implement system improvements.

· Participate in the analysis, planning, and implementation of IT and application-related projects.

· Support deployment, rollout, and user training for new or enhanced application systems; prepare and maintain operational and technical documentation.

· Perform system administration and operational support on Linux and Windows platforms.

· Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash/Python to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

· Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent.

· Operate, optimize, and troubleshoot containerized environments using Docker Swarm and/or Kubernetes.

· Implement and maintain system and application monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and related observability tools.

· Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment reliability, scalability, and operational readiness.

· Apply DevOps best practices to support high availability, resilience, and faster incident recovery.

· Deploy and operate new systems or applications as assigned by the Head of IT or project teams.

3. Qualifications

- University degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in application operations, system operations, or a similar role; experience in Securities or Financial Services is strongly preferred.

- Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems, Bash, and Python scripting.

- Proven experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).

- Practical experience with container platforms such as Docker Swarm and/or Kubernetes.

- Experience implementing or operating monitoring solutions such as Prometheus and Grafana is a strong advantage.

4. Competencies

- Strong knowledge of at least one enterprise database system: MS SQL, DB2, Informix, Oracle.

- Solid understanding of operating systems, system administration, and basic networking concepts.

- Knowledge of securities or financial systems is a significant advantage.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly responsible with a strong sense of ownership.
