Job Description
1. Job Purpose
The Application Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of the company's applications and related systems. This role involves daily application operations, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and providing timely support to users to maintain smooth business operations.
2. Key Responsibilities
Ensure all company applications operate stably, efficiently, and continuously.
Troubleshoot and analyze application and database-related issues (MS SQL, DB2, Informix, Oracle).
Coordinate and communicate with application vendors to resolve incidents and implement enhancements.
Participate in the analysis, development, and implementation of IT projects.
Support deployment and training for new software systems, including preparing technical documentation.
Perform system administration tasks on Windows & Linux platforms.
Deploy and operate new systems as requested by the Head of IT or project teams.
Manage and process IT user requests in a timely and professional manner.
Receive, track, investigate, and resolve user issues with clear communication and follow-through.
Perform additional tasks or duties assigned by the Head of IT.
3. Qualifications & Competencies
University degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a Securities or Financial Services company.
Ability to write scripts (Bash, Python); DevOps skills are highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of at least one major database management system (MS SQL, DB2, Informix, Oracle).
Solid understanding of networking concepts and operating systems.
Knowledge of securities or financial markets is a strong advantage.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Proactive, diligent, detail-oriented, and passionate about exploring new tech.
