Job Summary

The HR Manager role provides strategic and proactive direction and support to associates and leaders that is aligned with the company's strategic talent goals. This is a hands-on, solution-focused role that helps drive business results by ensuring we attract, engage, and develop the best talent at WSI.

You will have one direct report and will support their career development and growth. As a team you will work closely together to develop HR infrastructure required to support a global organization, including but not limited to driving projects, recruitment, development, associate relations, performance management, onboarding and the exit process. You will also ensure compensation, insurance and pension, tax, policies and procedures, reporting and other labor compliance requirements are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering

  • Meet regularly with management to understand the business goals and develop strategies to best support.
  • Use coaching and feedback techniques with leaders to support their development and understand the root cause of issues to help get to solution.
  • Support implementation of HR programs including streamlining communications, process improvements for various ad-hoc HR programs.
  • Take and maintain pulse of the organisation through informal and formal associate surveys. Provide recommendations and actions plans to leaders about strengthening engagement.
  • Determine and oversee change initiatives with clear strategic goals, communications, and action plan.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Manage entire recruitment cycle including approval, posting jobs, interview, reference and offer process.
  • Partner with our Singapore based Recruiter on training and recruitment strategy
  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of associate status changes and other necessary documents and actions as part of an associate's lifecycle.
  • Support our HR Generalist to ensure successful onboarding of our new associates and support for the manager.

Performance, Recognition, And Development

  • Drive performance management process including goal setting, performance appraisals and associate development planning.
  • Partner with Singapore Training team on a strategic plan to provide training to all associates to support their needs. Ensure metrics are in place to measure training effectiveness and implement strategies to continually engage and develop learning for the team.
  • Work with HR Generalist to lead all informal and formal recognition programs in collaboration with our US and Global HR team. Responsibilities include the recognition program calendar, tracking, and organising nominations, and coordination of communication.
  • Working with Senior HR Manager and leaders on career development program and succession planning.

Associate Relations

  • Consult with managers and associates on all aspects of associate-related issues including performance concerns, policies and procedures interpretation, misconduct investigations, terminations.

HR Operations & Metrics

  • Partner with the Singapore team to develop meaningful reporting for country.
  • Analyze recruitment, retention, turnover, exit interview data and other information necessary to provide insights to leaders and help them make informed business decisions.
  • Partner with our HR Generalist to ensure HRIS Oracle record keeping and other administrative processes are effectively maintained.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Along with the Senior HR Manager, work with Singapore Compensation and Benefits team, Payroll team for ensuring fair and accurate compensation and benefits .

Associate Engagement And Retention

  • Work with our HR Generalist to implement and manage associate wellness programs and engagement activities during the year and gather the necessary resources to implement them effectively, in order to attract, engage and retain our talent.
  • Promote understanding and connection in the Southeast region through the implementation of joint events, best practice sharing, experiences in participating in global programs.

Compliance and Audit

  • Identify risk, ensure adherence with all applicable HR-related legal, regulatory and compliance requirements and recommend actions to protect the company.
  • Adapt company policies and procedures including the Associate Handbook to reflect local legal and cultural requirements.
  • Administer Code of Conduct and Respectful Workplace policies applicable in region.
  • Embed and monitor measures to ensure operational excellence.

Country-specific Compliance And Legislation

  • Maintain and understand country-specific labor laws and labor practices in labor contract, payroll, social insurance and tax
  • Support company leadership in the development of a global organization, leveraging and optimizing the regulations of compliance and legislation to best execute the company's strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure HR policies and programs reflect the unique requirements of foreign national employment.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • At least 8-10 years management experience as a HR professional in a global organisation.
  • Able to partner with the business and diagnose root cause to find solutions
  • Ability to influence at all levels including senior management
  • Experience in managing a population of local, expatriate, and foreign national associates across multiple countries
  • Experience managing statutory and labor market changes and trends.
  • Strong English and local language skills
  • Strong writing ability and effective presentation skills
