Position: Homologation Lead Engineer
Team: North America Region, India Homologation Department
Reports to: North America Region, India Homologation Manager
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Overview: Completing the certification work as assigned vehicle model, success to bring the cars into the India market to sell to customers.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT: Organizing, implementing and evaluating the budget spending in order to achieve financial targets (budgets planning, monitoring and updating spending items, optimizing costs...). Monitor and regularly update the implementation costs, avoid over or under budget for homologation activities. Ensure the effective use of the homologation budget, no theft and corruption.
Functional Job
- Research laws & regulations to ensure the compliance and ability to homologate in international markets (focus on India market).
- Provide regulations/laws to the designers/engineers to input so that they can study and develop the vehicle to meet the regulations of the target export country
- Liaise with PMO Dept. and determined timing expectations, create certification strategy and present to management for approval. Follow homologation plan of the export country, coordinate with relevant departments to keep the project running on schedule.
- Work with ESP (engineers), contractors supporting homologation activities, act as the contact point with International agencies to obtain certificates for different markets.
- Coordinating the preparation of sample vehicles for certification testing/Testing of vehicles as planned
- Audit / review test reports and sign off applicable Compliance Summaries.
- Make a budget for each export project, propose for approval and directly monitor the spending of each cash flow in the budget
- Periodically meet with the engineers regarding technical changes & confirm the impacts on homologation (if any). For on-going design changes, liaise with engineering modules /engineering services partners/ Validation / Testing and Design to determine number and level of test properties required.

- Support Admin tasks within the department
- Read and understand the regulations/laws of different countries; Timely update of newly promulgated regulations and put into practice related homologation work/Technical regulation change monitoring (information collection, analyzing, impact study, report)
- Controlling the validity period of the Certificates (National type approval)
Requirements
- Having knowledge in the automotive industry, knowledge in the certification field is an advantage, requires a technical university degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle homologation/Certification
- Having homologation experience in export markets, knowing about India market is an advantage
- Having a good understanding of the various Type Approval approval processes used in the various countries of sales
- Having knowledge about BEV
