What we're looking for

We are hiring a Head of Vietnam to lead the commercial growth and local operations of our Southeast Asian payments business expanding through Vietnam.

Our Vietnam operations include two established brands: a B2B payment gateway serving Vietnamese merchants, and a D2C eWallet. Both are operated through our local Vietnam entity, part of a regional payments group with operations across Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone ambitious enough to take on building a country business, whether you've done it before or are ready to step up and figure it out. You'll have an existing operational base, a regional platform behind you, and meaningful ownership of outcomes.

The ideal candidate is an ambitious builder who combines a founder's mentality with strong execution skills and the ability to build and lead high-performing teams across diverse markets. This is more than a job. It is an opportunity to help build one of Southeast Asia's next-generation regional payments platforms, from an already functioning and growing base. You should be comfortable operating in fast-changing environments, solving problems directly, and making decisions with imperfect information.

What You'll Do

  • Lead day-to-day commercial operations in Vietnam, with accountability for merchant acquisition, revenue growth, and go-to-market execution across two business units (B2B payment gateway & D2C eWallet).
  • Refine and execute Vietnam's merchant segment strategy across enterprise, MSMBs, and social commerce, collaborating closely with group leadership.
  • Build and lead the Vietnam commercial and operations team across sales, business operations, customer support, and local marketing.
  • Own commercial performance against the Vietnam P&L, with revenue targets, cost discipline, and quarterly milestones agreed with the group.
  • Drive direct merchant acquisition for our B2B payment gateway product, building the sales motion, pricing, and partnership structures appropriate to the chosen segments.
  • Lead our D2C eWallet go-to-market, defining positioning, growth strategy, and user acquisition channels for meaningful consumer adoption in Vietnam.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Vietnamese banks, card schemes, alternative payment providers, and ecosystem partners essential to PG and eWallet operations.
  • Partner with the group's central engineering team to translate Vietnam market needs into product priorities.
  • Partner with the group's central finance function on reporting, treasury, and intercompany flows.

What you should have

  • 5+ years in fintech, payments, banking, or financial services in Vietnam, with experience in team or functional leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of the Vietnamese business environment, with working knowledge of (or genuine willingness to quickly learn) SBV regulations, intermediary payment services licensing, and the local banking landscape.
  • Track record of commercial impact - through direct sales, business development, partnerships, or operating a meaningful revenue line. Demonstrated ability to win customers and close deals.
  • High ownership mindset. Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, building structure where none exists, and operating with limited support.
  • Native or bilingual Vietnamese fluency with strong business English.
  • Comfort operating in a matrixed environment where technology and finance functions are run centrally by the group, requiring strong collaboration and clear escalation discipline.
  • High energy, ambition, and a genuine desire to build. This is a builder's role, not a manager's role.

Our business is built around alternative payment methods, merchant operations, payment routing, and high-volume processing. We are now entering the next stage: transitioning from a high-growth payments operator into a more institutionally scaled regional fintech platform built for long-term, sustainable growth across Southeast Asia.
