Job Purpose
The Head of Product is responsible for leading the bank's product strategy, development, and lifecycle management across Retail, SME, and Wholesale segments.
The position will drive the end-to-end product development agenda, coordinate closely with business divisions to ensure successful rollout, and continuously measure and optimize product performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Lead the bank's overall product strategy across Retail, SME, and Wholesale segments.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive product portfolio aligned with the bank's business strategy and market positioning.
- Identify new product opportunities based on customer insights, market trends, and competitive benchmarking.
- Define product value propositions, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.
2. Product Development & Innovation
- Drive end-to-end product development from ideation, design, testing, and launch.
- Establish standardized product development frameworks and governance across the bank.
- Work closely with Technology, Risk, Operations, and Digital teams to ensure successful product implementation.
- Champion customer-centric and data-driven product innovation.
3. Agile Product Organization Management
- Lead and manage a product organization of approximately 100 staff under an agile operating model.
- Build cross-functional product squads integrating business, technology, and data capabilities.
- Develop product management capabilities and best practices across the organization.
4. Product Performance & Commercial Impact
- Monitor and evaluate product performance including revenue contribution, customer adoption, profitability, and customer experience.
- Work with business divisions to ensure effective product commercialization and sales enablement.
- Identify opportunities to optimize or discontinue underperforming products.
5. Cross-Division Coordination
- Act as the central product governance function across Retail Banking, SME Banking, and Wholesale Banking divisions.
- Ensure alignment between product development and business execution.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Digital Banking, Risk, and Operations to deliver integrated product solutions.
Team Management
- Lead a product organization of approximately 100 employees structured under agile product squads.
- Build a high-performing product management culture focused on innovation, speed, and customer-centricity.
- Develop strong product leadership pipeline within the bank.
Key Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Banking, Business Administration, or related fields.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in banking or financial services.
- At least 810 years in product management/ product development leadership roles.
- Strong experience in Retail Banking or SME Banking products (highly preferred).
- Proven track record in building and launching successful banking products.
Leadership & Skills
- Strong product strategy and product lifecycle management capability.
- Experience leading large product teams under agile frameworks.
- Deep understanding of banking products including deposits, lending, payments, and digital banking.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to work directly with executive leadership.
