The Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute (QACI) is established by FPT Corporation to make long-term investments in foundational technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technology, and Cybersecurity.
The Institute focuses on building specialized research labs where teams work across academic research, technology experimentation, and real-world solution development.
Activities are closely integrated with undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral training, as well as collaborations with domestic and international partners, aiming to deliver in-depth and applicable research outcomes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead and manage a Physical AI research lab within the Institute.
Responsible for organizing research activities, managing the team, and executing professional tasks aligned with the Institute's strategic direction.
Report directly to the Institute Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and coordinate all lab operations, including personnel, R&D planning, execution progress, and technical quality.
Lead and contribute to research initiatives in Physical AI, including physics-informed machine learning, scientific machine learning, and AI models grounded in physical systems.
Propose and develop algorithms, models, and technology solutions that integrate AI/ML with physical principles and real-world systems.
Monitor, analyze, and stay updated on emerging trends in Physical AI, physics-informed neural networks (PINNs), simulation-based learning, and AI for scientific computing.
Collaborate with internal FPT business units and external partners to translate real-world and scientific problems into feasible research directions and applied solutions.
Evaluate and validate research outcomes, ensuring scientific rigor, applicability, and potential for technology transfer.
Contribute to the development and standardization of R&D processes within the lab, including research, experimentation, and deployment.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of researchers and engineers; foster a high-quality research and training environment.
Represent the lab at national and international scientific and technology conferences.
Contribute to scientific publications and industrial innovations, prioritizing impactful and applicable research outcomes.
Co-supervise PhD candidates and participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programs when assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related fields.
Strong experience with Physical AI approaches, including physics-informed machine learning or related methodologies.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in research, academia, or industry.
Proven track record of publications in reputable journals or conferences.
Solid understanding of AI/ML model development and scientific computing workflows.
Strong teamwork, professionalism, and sense of responsibility.
Proficiency in English in academic and professional environments.
