As of December 2021, SmartPay has over 650 thousand payment acceptance units and over 40 million users. The company enables merchants to accept various forms of payments, including QR Scan to pay, Tap to pay, Facepay, bank cards, and online payment gateways. SmartPay also designs business solutions to support financial inclusion for over 4 million micro and SME retailers in Vietnam. The company is PCI DSS level 1 certified, ensuring top-notch security for card data.

Job Summary:

The Head of Finance will lead the financial strategy and accounting of the payment company. This role is responsible for optimizing capital efficiency, driving profitability in the payments and fintech industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's financial strategy aligned with business growth and profitability goals.
  • Advise the CEO and executive team on financial planning, risk management and funding strategies.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Oversee financial reporting and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.

2. Financial Operations

  • Manage day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, cash flow, and reconciliations.
  • Implement financial controls to ensure transparency and accuracy.
  • Optimize working capital and manage relationships with banks, investors, and payment networks.

3. Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements, including banks and payment authority regulations.

4. Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, settlement processes, and financial regulations.
