NAB Digital Vietnam's tech teams build and operate the core digital, cloud, data, and cybersecurity platforms that power banking experiences for millions of NAB customers, working with modern engineering stacks (microservices, APIs, AWS/Azure cloud, DevOps) and collaborating closely with Australia and global partners to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative digital solutions. We are looking for a Head of Engineer to join the team and deliver ongoing operations of an IT Digital roadmap(s), support strategy definition, and be responsible for leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team of dynamic.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical leadership for the Digital Sub-Domain and are accountable for on-time delivery of Sprint / SDLC epics and features.
- Lead, coach and mentor technology resources to uplift skills/knowledge to perform their role and to build a high-performing team.
- Drive technical delivery with a focus on improving speed, cost and quality of outcomes, ensuring the squads are aligned on objective and outcomes.
- Support and drive lean portfolio management across the Digital domains through linking business roadmaps with software / platform delivery.
- Manage cross functional, agile teams across business units to achieve planned targets. Accountable for removing technical or delivery impediments that can't be resolved at squad level.
- Cost Management of financials to ensure achievement of plans and drive CI/CD.
- Responsible for developing market-leading capacity; the strategic deployment of departmental resources leads to optimal resource allocation and successful Digital product development.
- Contribute as NICV expert and contribute to NAB corporate IT leadership to build innovation of AI, Cloud expertise and others where applies.
- Advise and / or responsible to stakeholders on digital dev, test, deploy and operate Digital NAD services from NICV (Vietnam Innovation Center Vietnam).
- Execute other tasks as assigned by your People Leader and/or authorized representative of NAB Vietnam from time to time.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in Digital delivery of large, complex organizations operating in global services / work-force management. Preferably in Banking/ Financial services
- High level of practical expertise, combined with significant business depth and strategic vision to enable effective assessment of the potential added-valued to be played by IT systems.
- Experienced in managing and delivering multi-business unit initiatives; large complex programs containing multiple streams across multiple regions, with multiple vendors.
- Experienced in building, leading and managing teams of 50+ world class engineers with high complexity
- Able to navigate a large complex organization and build relationship with Senior stakeholder using informal and formal networks.
- The ability to lead a team that thinks and execute like a fintech, whilst operating with the balance sheet and risk appetite of the largest Banks in Australia
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Can work under stressful situations time to time. Personal resilience.
- High quality planning, prioritization, and organization skills.
- Critical thinking and ability to identify risks, areas of gaps and seek help if / when required.
- Stakeholder Management. High influencing authority with peers and stakeholders.
- Financial management, planning and forecasting techniques.
- Capacity management and resource allocation and lead technical team.
- Tracking, measuring and continuous improvement of team performance
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 10+ years in working in financial services technology. Ideally Tier1 banking.
- Min 5+ years in both technology change, operations (incl. triage management)
- Min 5+ years experience in managing technology teams of 30+ staff
- Technical experience in either development, design, architecture and / or consulting
KEY STAKEHOLDERS:
- Technology Executives in Australia, India and Vietnam
- Risk Management Executives. Including CISO groups
- General Director NICV.
