The Quantum AI & Cyber Security Institute (QACI) is established by FPT Corporation to make long-term investments in foundational technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technology, and Cybersecurity.
The Institute focuses on building specialized research labs where teams work across academic research, technology experimentation, and real-world solution development.
Activities are closely integrated with undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral training, as well as collaborations with domestic and international partners, aiming to deliver in-depth and applicable research outcomes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead and manage an Edge AI research lab within the Institute.
Responsible for organizing research activities, team management, and executing professional tasks aligned with the Institute's strategic direction.
Report directly to the Institute Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and coordinate all lab operations, including personnel, research planning, training programs, execution progress, and technical quality, with a focus on Edge AI.
Directly contribute to and guide research initiatives, including proposing and developing ideas, algorithms, models, and technology services in Edge AI, AI for IoT/embedded systems, and interdisciplinary areas with Quantum and Cybersecurity when applicable.
Monitor, analyze, and stay updated on emerging trends in Edge AI, lightweight AI, real-time AI, and edge AI security to support R&D activities.
Collaborate with FPT business units and external partners to define technical and user requirements, translating real-world problems into feasible Edge AI research directions and solutions.
Evaluate and validate research outcomes, products, and technology services to ensure applicability, transferability, and practical value.
Contribute to the development and standardization of R&D processes, including research, development, testing, and deployment of Edge AI products/services within the lab.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of researchers and AI/Edge AI engineers; foster a research and training environment aligned with real-world systems and devices.
Represent the lab at national and international scientific and technology conferences, particularly in AI, Edge AI, and intelligent systems.
Contribute to scientific publications and industrial innovations, prioritizing research with strong application and commercialization potential in Edge AI.
Co-supervise PhD candidates and participate in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programs related to AI, Edge AI, IoT, and intelligent systems when assigned.
EQUIREMENTS
PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, IoT, or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in research, teaching, development, or deployment in AI, with a strong focus on Edge AI; interdisciplinary experience in Cybersecurity or Quantum is a plus.
Proven track record of publications in reputable journals or conferences.
Strong understanding of software/system design and development processes; experience in AI deployment is preferred.
Strong teamwork, professionalism, and sense of responsibility.
Proficiency in English in academic and professional environments.
