About The Role
As the Head of Credit Cards at Circle, you are the business owner of our core business line. This is a high-stakes leadership role carrying full P&L responsibility. You will report directly to the CEO or the Chief Product Officer and be the strategic architect behind our card. Your mission is to take our vision from market launch to a multi-billion dollar portfolio, ensuring that Circle isn't just another financial tool, but a lifestyle essential for the digital generation. You will balance the Grit of a startup founding team with the Execution of a seasoned payments executive.
Key Responsibilities
- Full P&L Management: Own both the top and bottom line of the credit card business in Vietnam. You will be responsible for driving revenue through interchange, interest income, fees, and subscription models while aggressively managing costs of acquisition (CAC), cost of service (COS) and Cost of Rewards (COR)
- Strategic Roadmap & Vision: Define the 12-36 month product vision for the Vietnam market. You will decide which segments to win, which features to prioritize (e.g., BNPL, subscriptions, credit building, form factors, etc), and how to position Circle against legacy banks and emerging neobanks.
- Lead the Product Squad: Directly manage a high-performing team of Product Owners (Core, VAS, App Experience). You will set the pace, establish Execute with Urgency as a team norm, and ensure cross-functional alignment between Tech, Risk, Ops, Sales and Marketing – for both the core card product and the Circle app experience. You will hold the responsibility to ensure product configurations (features, pricing, fees, interest rate, delinquency logic, etc.) are setup correctly and in compliance with partner bank policy and SBV regulations.
- Value Added Services: You manage the Value Added Services - the ecosystem of features that drive usage, delight, and top-of-wallet status including rewards, instalments, tokenization, wearables, etc.
- App Experience: You are responsible for the Circle App Experience - ensuring that every interaction, from checking a transaction to sharing a card with a family member, is Spotify-smooth, enjoyable and intuitive.
- Bank & Scheme Relationship: Act as the primary strategic lead for our partner banks and card schemes (Visa/MasterCard). You will manage BIN sponsorship negotiations for future products, credit line availability, VAS from the schemes and ensure our product logic remains compliant with both bank and SBV regulations. - Customer Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end customer lifecycle and key outcomes while working in a cross-functional setup with sales, risk and operations to implement dynamic pricing, AI-tailored credit limits, and personalized offer engines that maximize the Lifetime Value (LTV) of each customer.
- Compliance & Risk Governance: Collaborate with the Risk to ensure the portfolio remains healthy. You will oversee the commercial impact of credit policies and ensure the product design minimizes red light exposure and fraud.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying global fintech trends (e.g., Apple Pay expansion, crypto-linked cards, green finance) and determining their viability for the Vietnamese urban youth.
- Continuous Innovation: You will ensure continuous innovation whether on the credit card product or the Circle app to ensure we are best-in-class and work with respective teams to deliver the innovation agenda of Circle.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional experience in credit card products in a bank or high-growth Fintech, with at least 3 years in a product P&L-owning capacity.
- Deep subject matter expertise in the Vietnamese payments ecosystem, including a strong understanding of interchange structures, key growth drivers and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in a Zero to One environment—you must have successfully launched or scaled a credit card product in a fintech or within a large bank.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical rigor; you are comfortable building complex financial models and making multi-billion VND decisions based on data.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring a young team while commanding respect in a boardroom of bank partners and investors.
- Fully bilingual in Vietnamese and English (Professional level).
- Familiarity with AI tools for productivity (e.g., ChatGPT for strategy drafting, advanced data visualization tools) and a vision for how AI can optimize card profitability.
