Job Description

Our client is a major financial institution in Vietnam with strong capital backing and a clear ambition to elevate its Corporate Banking franchise to international standards. With a rapidly growing client base across local corporates, multinational companies, and regional conglomerates, the bank is strengthening its leadership bench to drive strategic growth, deepen client relationships, and enhance product sophistication.

The bank is undergoing progressive transformation across credit, risk, product development, digitalisation, and talent. This role will play a central part in shaping strategy, elevating portfolio quality, and building a best-in-class corporate banking platform for Vietnam's next stage of economic expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Corporate Banking division, overseeing relationship management, portfolio strategy, product penetration, and revenue growth.
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior relationship managers, ensuring high-quality client engagement and disciplined credit management.
  • Drive acquisition and long-term partnerships with large local corporates, state-owned enterprises, and multinational clients.
  • Oversee credit strategy, client selection, risk appetite, and pricing discipline to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Work closely with product teams across Trade, Cash, Treasury, DCM, and Project Finance to deliver holistic banking solutions.
  • Strengthen governance, internal processes, and operational efficiency in alignment with international banking standards.
  • Represent the bank in external engagements, internal committees, and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders.

Experience Required

  • 1220+ years of Corporate Banking or Institutional Banking experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record in leading teams and managing large corporate portfolios in a high-growth or emerging market environment.
  • Strong understanding of credit, risk, structuring, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Commercially driven with solid market relationships across corporates, sponsors, and financial institutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people-development skills with a strategic, forward-looking mindset.
  • Experience in Vietnam is preferred, though candidates with Southeast Asia exposure and a willingness to relocate will be considered.
