Company Overview

Our client is one of Vietnam's leading packaging manufacturers, with over 20 years of experience in the industry. The company serves both local and international brands and is recognized for its product quality, customer service, and commitment to customer satisfaction.

With five manufacturing facilities located across Vietnam, the company provides a diverse range of packaging solutions for food products (milk powder, nuts, edible oil), industrial products (paint, adhesives, chemicals). The company also offers printing services .

Position Summary

The Head of Business Development is responsible for leading the company's business development activities to achieve revenue, profit, and market share objectives in alignment with the overall corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Planning & Strategy

  • Conduct market research, industry analysis, and competitor benchmarking.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies and annual sales plans.
  • Monitor business performance and adjust strategies when necessary to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Manage sales forecasting and recommend sales policies within the assigned authority.

2. Sales Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and manage the Business Development team to achieve business objectives.
  • Set performance targets, monitor sales activities, and evaluate team performance.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to enhance product knowledge, market understanding, customer engagement, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
  • Develop KPI frameworks, incentive schemes, and performance evaluation systems, and provide recommendations to the Management Board.

3. Sales Management & Customer Relationship Management

  • Actively participate in business development activities, especially with key accounts and high-potential prospects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
  • Drive the effective utilization of CRM systems to manage sales activities and customer interactions.
  • Ensure customer feedback is properly captured and communicated to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular customer evaluations, identify potential risks, and propose strategies to retain and grow strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to align sales and marketing initiatives.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with Planning, Production, and Warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of customer commitments.
  • Work with the Finance & Accounting team to monitor receivables and ensure timely debt collection, supporting healthy cash flow management.
  • Propose and implement effective inventory management solutions to optimize working capital and minimize stock-related risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Business Development, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, particularly within B2B business models, is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and customer engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinking with a proactive and accountable mindset.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and business research skills.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities and drive growth.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM systems and sales management tools.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
