About Hoan My
- Hoan My Medical Corporation is Vietnam's largest private hospital network. Fourteen hospitals across the country, six million annual patient encounters, three established brand clusters serving premium and mid-market healthcare. Owned by Clermont Group of Singapore.
- We are building an AI and data capability that will define how private healthcare is delivered in Vietnam over the next decade. The Head of AI Engineering and Platform is one of the senior technical roles in the group and is being recruited now to lead that build.
About the role
- This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You will own the architecture and build of the AI, data, and cloud platform that the Hoan My network runs on. You will lead a small senior team of engineers and direct specialist build partners across Vietnam and India. You will write production code on the work that matters most. You will set the engineering culture, the architectural standards, and the technical direction for the group's AI and platform capability.
- The platform is a clean-slate opportunity. Hoan My carries no significant legacy integration debt. You will not spend the first eighteen months extracting and harmonising data from a dozen disconnected systems before you can build anything of value. The starting position lets you architect a modern, AI-native platform from foundations rather than retrofit one onto a fragmented estate.
- The role reports to the Group Chief Technology and AI Officer and sits in the senior technology leadership of the group.
What you will do
- Lead the architecture and engineering of the Hoan My AI, data, and cloud platform.
- Build the strategic layer in-house with a small senior team using modern agentic development tooling.
- Direct specialist build partners on the bulk of production work, under your architectural governance
- Ship production AI services across revenue cycle, clinical decision support, operational AI, and patient engagement.
- Translate clinical and operational requirements into platform capability.
- Make build, buy, or partner decisions with clarity and discipline.
- Own the cost, performance, and reliability of the platform end to end.
- Establish the engineering culture, the hiring bar, and the technical practices for a function being built from scratch.
What we are looking for
- Twelve plus years building cloud-native distributed systems at scale across at least two of AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
- Production AI systems delivered to thousands of users: agentic frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, LLM gateways, evaluation pipelines, guardrails, and the surrounding governance layer.
- Strong platform engineering depth: Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, observability, CI/CD.
- Demonstrated cost-optimisation track record at enterprise scale.
- Production fluency in Go and Python; comfort with TypeScript and React for developer-facing surfaces.
- Track record of leading small senior engineering teams (five to fifteen) rather than large generalist organisations.
- Active use of modern agentic development tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent) and a clear view on how to build engineering culture around it.
- Builder's mindset. Codes on most days. Architecturally opinionated. Direct with vendors.
