Overview
The Group Finance Manager is a pivotal role in Kovena's finance team, responsible for the accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial statements for our global payments and SaaS business. This role is critical in driving; efficient group reporting, compliance, and accuracy with intercompany transactions. The role also leads process improvement and automation to support the businesses rapid scale-up. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, with strong technical accounting knowledge and complex group consolidation experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Group Reporting and Intercompany Management
- Manage the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Execute and oversee rigorous intercompany reconciliation and elimination processes across all subsidiaries to ensure accurate group-level reporting.
- Maintain tight control and strong compliance over payables and operating costs.
- Assist the Finance Director in overseeing payments settlements and cross-border financial flows.
- Ensure reporting compliance with all relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements across all operating jurisdictions.
- Prepare detailed variance analysis for senior management, explaining differences between actual results, budget, and forecasts.
Process Improvement and Automation for Scale
- Enhance the reconciliation and consolidation processes; efficiency, accuracy, and control through automation, implementing tools and ai to support company scale-up.
- Drive the standardization of group-wide financial processes (working with the Finance Director), focusing on intercompany and payments workflows, including the creation of processes and procedures.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strong internal controls are maintained over the financial reporting process and internal settlements.
- Assist in the integration of financial systems and processes for newly acquired entities.
- Assist the budgeting and forecasting process by providing historical data and technical guidance.
Accounting, Tax and Compliance
- Serve as a technical accounting resource for the Group, researching and documenting conclusions on complex accounting issues (e.g., acquisition accounting, hedging)
- Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Policy manual, ensuring consistency and adherence across all subsidiaries.
- Work with CFO, Finance Director and Advisors to ensure transfer pricing and other tax artefacts are in place to ensure compliance and an optimised tax position.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g.,Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and the Chief Accountant Certificate or ACCA, CPA).
- Minimum of 7 years + of progressive experience in an accounting role, with significant experience in multi-geographic group consolidation and financial reporting, preferably within a large, multi-national organisation.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex intercompany processes and reconciliations for a global business.
- Strong compliance experience, particularly related to payments, settlements, and cross-border transactions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Proactive, hands on approach with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong proficiency in English.
Preferred
- Experience in driving or implementing finance process automation projects.
- Experience within a global technology business or payments business.
- Experience with Xero Cloud-base software
