Job overview and Responsibility
We are seeking a talented, motivated, and visually driven Graphic Designer Intern to join our team at Spiderbox Design. In this role, your core focus (70%) will be crafting high-quality graphic design and marketing assets across digital and print platforms. The remaining 30% of your time will offer a unique opportunity to dip your toes into UI/UX design - working directly under the mentorship of our UI/UX expert Lead to help shape our digital platforms.
Spiderbox Design builds Education Ecosystems (EdEco) for delivering competency-aligned training. We design Vocational Learning Ecosystems that streamline training delivery, operational efficiency, and compliance support for RTOs, TAFEs, and Global EdTech providers.
Responsibilities:
- Graphic Design (70%): Design compelling graphics for a diverse range of projects, including branding materials (guidelines, logos, presentations) and digital marketing assets (social media graphics, display ads, EDM banners).
- UI/UX Support & Dashboards (30%): Assist our UI/UX Lead in creating user interface components, basic wireframes, and layouts for our educational dashboards and cloud platforms.
- Video & Motion Design: Create simple, short-form video edits and ads for YouTube and social media; familiarity with animated graphics or motion design is a strong plus.
- Brand Integration: Help adapt and white-label our core visuals to seamlessly blend with the existing brand touchpoints and product landscapes of our clients.
- Project Execution: Review design briefs to translate complex educational data and administrative workflows into clear, easy-to-understand visual assets.
- Collaboration & Learning: Partner closely with our UI/UX Lead, copywriters, and instructional designers to maintain high-quality visual outputs while actively absorbing feedback.
Must-Haves:
- Final year student or recent graduate in Graphic Design, UI/UX, Interaction Design, or a related creative field.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating clean typography, layout skills, and a solid understanding of fundamental design principles.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools, specifically Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop (Canva or Premiere/After Effects is a plus).
- Basic understanding of or a strong interest in user-centric design (UI/UX workflows, wireframing, component libraries).
- Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to learn from senior creative leads.
- Strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to meet deadlines.
