Responsibilities:
The Government Affairs Manager will represent the organization in Vietnam within the public policy landscape, build and maintain strategic external relationships, and support business operations by enabling regulatory compliance, mitigating risks, and influencing favorable policy directions.
1/ Government, Policy & Compliance
- Develop and execute comprehensive government engagement strategies aligned with leadership and legal teams.
- Advise leadership to ensure operations remain compliant with local and global legal & regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative, regulatory and policy developments that affect the company.
- Formulate local government relations programs, especially in operationally strategic provinces.
2/ Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Government authorities
- Policy advisors
- NGOs
- Industry associations (AmCham, EuroCham, etc.)
- Represent the organization in hearings, industry forums, meetings, or consultation sessions.
3/ Advocacy & Documentation
- Prepare and submit position papers, petitions, letters, policy recommendations, and relevant documentation.
- Identify risk implications arising from government decisions and advise internal stakeholders accordingly.
4/ Business & Sustainability Enablement
- Support Operations in protecting business continuity and addressing regulatory challenges.
- Support Commercial teams in enabling new business opportunities via government/associations channels.
- Facilitate sustainability initiatives in Vietnam in collaboration with regional teams.
- Identify subsidies or incentive schemes (tax relief and others) and support application procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 10 years working experience within multinational organizations in Vietnam
- Minimum 3 years experience in government affairs/public affairs
- Experience in policy advocacy/lobbying and drafting submissions/official communications
- Working experience with AmCham, EuroCham, or similar associations preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Local government structure & decision-making processes
- International trade, manufacturing or economic policies
- Demonstrated integrity, business ethics, and stakeholder management
- Fluent English communication
- Master's degree is preferred
