FIREGROUP AT A GLANCE
Founded in 2016 in Vietnam, FireGroup Technology is committed to building world-class SaaS products that make a global impact on e-commerce. From the outset, we envisioned a world where running an online business is easy, effective, and sustainable, and we have been bringing that vision to life for nearly a decade.
TrueProfit is one of FireGroup's portfolio products, helping Shopify merchants understand what they are really earning - not just what they are selling. It is a real-time profit analytics platform that brings orders, product costs, shipping, transaction fees, taxes, and advertising spend together in one place. With TrueProfit, merchants can track net profit, P&L, product performance, customer lifetime value, and marketing attribution across their stores and channels.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Backend Engineer who wants to build deeply for the product - someone who cares about the merchant behind the dashboard, takes ownership beyond assigned tickets, and wants to grow alongside a product used to make better business decisions every day.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Build product systems that merchants can trust
- Design and build complex backend capabilities across multiple modules or the broader system architecture.
- Develop reliable Golang services and APIs that power real-time profit tracking, reporting, analytics, and integrations.
- Work on challenging product problems such as data synchronization, data accuracy, performance, scalability, and failure handling.
- Make sound technical trade-offs that balance product velocity, maintainability, reliability, and long-term growth.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Frontend, Backend, and QA to turn product requirements into high-quality customer outcomes.
Take ownership from idea to production
- Own your work throughout its lifecycle: clarify the problem, design the solution, implement, test, release, monitor, and improve it.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-structured code that follows team standards for linting, Conventional Commits, and Clean Code.
- Ensure features pass QA and are dependable in production, especially where data quality and merchant trust are involved.
- Monitor production systems, investigate issues, and proactively propose optimizations that improve stability and availability.
- Contribute to technical documentation so the product and engineering team can scale sustainably.
Build faster with AI, without lowering the bar
- Use Claude Code and AI coding agents as part of your daily engineering workflow — from scaffolding Go structs, MongoDB models, AWS Lambda handlers, and REST APIs to generating tests and documentation.
- Use AI to investigate complex bugs, refactor legacy modules, review large pull requests, and identify performance or security improvements.
- Apply good engineering judgment to validate AI-assisted output and maintain a high standard of code quality.
Raise the engineering bar
- Review peer code and give thoughtful feedback on code quality, system design, security, and maintainability.
- Support teammates in debugging, problem-solving, and adopting better engineering practices.
- Bring a product mindset to technical discussions: understand the why, challenge assumptions constructively, and look for the simplest solution that creates real value.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in Golang development.
- Experience designing and building backend services for production systems.
- Proven experience building serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
- Deep understanding of Separation of Concerns (SoC) and software design patterns.
- Strong experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB highly preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Mandatory: High proficiency in prompt engineering and utilizing Agentic AI coding tools, specifically Claude Code.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient code.
- Expertise in RESTful API design and implementation.
- Proficiency in version control (Git).
- Strong background in Unit Testing and TDD.
- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
WHAT SETS YOU APART
- You have handled real production challenges: data consistency, retries, performance bottlenecks, system reliability, or incident resolution.
- You care about the impact of a feature after it ships, not only whether it is technically complete.
- You can connect engineering decisions to merchant outcomes and product growth.
- You are excited by the complexity behind a simple profit dashboard and want to make that complexity invisible to customers.
- You see AI as an engineering multiplier and use it responsibly to learn, build, and improve faster.
