Position Overview
This remote leadership role focuses on driving global education strategies that advocate for animal sentience, welfare, and responsible ownership. You will lead the design of evidence-based learning programs across schools, universities, professional sectors, and communities, while managing a team and building key strategic partnerships to maximize real-world impact for animals and people.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute an overarching, data-driven education strategy aligned with the organization's mission, including budget oversight and grant management.
- Curriculum & Resource Design: Create high-quality, age-appropriate educational materials, workshops, and digital resources covering animal cognition, emotions, behavior, and veterinary welfare.
- Team & Outreach Management: Supervise, train, and support education staff, presenters, and volunteers while coordinating community outreach events and awareness campaigns.
- Partnerships & Representation: Build strong relationships with schools, universities, shelters, veterinarians, and government agencies to expand programmatic reach.
- Impact Evaluation & Content Curation: Set metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, collect impact data, and continuously refine content while contributing to digital channels (website, social media, newsletters) and fundraising efforts.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Animal Science, Biology, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience:
- years in education, outreach, or program development (ideally within animal welfare or humane non-profits).
- Proven background in team management, budget oversight, and curriculum/evaluation framework design.
- Key Knowledge & Skills:
- Deep understanding of animal behavior, welfare, and educational pedagogy.
- Exceptional public speaking, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with LMS tools, virtual presentation platforms, and data reporting software.
- Strong strategic planning, leadership, cultural sensitivity, and a passionate commitment to animal welfare.
