Job Description

Role Overview

The General Manager (GM) will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the success of our Vietnam office. Reporting directly to the CEO, the GM will share responsibility for managing the overall P&L performance, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering strong client relationships. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership skills to inspire teams, win new business, and deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Financial Leadership

  • Share responsibility with the CEO for managing the office's P&L, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Drive revenue growth through new business development and client retention.
  • Lead and win pitches to secure new accounts and expand market share.

2. Operational Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, including back-office functions.
  • Ensure efficient processes, compliance, and resource allocation to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional teams and leverage Assembly's global talent and resources for best practices and innovation.

3. Strategic Planning

  • Work closely with the CEO to develop and execute multi-year business strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends to position the agency for long-term success.

4. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality work that meets client expectations and strengthens partnerships.

5. People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to enhance morale and performance.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
  • Champion professional development and talent retention initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  1. 1520 years of experience in senior leadership roles within advertising, marketing, creative brand communication or related industries.
  2. Strong understanding of agency operations, client servicing, and business development.
  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to manage P&L, develop strategies, and deliver results in a competitive market.
  5. Fluent in English and Vietnamese
