Start Date: March 2026

Duration: 12 months (with potential extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time General Accountant to manage financial operations, ensure compliance with Vietnam's tax regulations, and support the organization in overseeing financial transactions, contracts, and projects. The role involves maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and contributing to effective decision-making. The expected workload is moderate and suitable for candidates seeking flexible, reduced working hours.

Working Arrangement

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Flexible mix of office-based and remote work depending on workload and mutual agreement
  • Occasional in-office presence may be requested for key tasks or meetings

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and general ledger entries.
  • Handle accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with Vietnam's tax system (VAT, CIT, PIT, and other obligations).
  • Oversee and review financial aspects of contracts, projects, grants, and deals.
  • Work with an external accounting service company to manage accounting and auditing activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Track budgets, forecasts, and expenditures against projects/funding sources.
  • Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, donors, and external service providers.
  • Support external and internal audits with accurate documentation.
  • Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance standards.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to management for operational and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience (SME, corporate, or NGO/donor-funded projects).
  • Strong knowledge of Vietnam's tax system and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in coordinating with accounting service providers or auditors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and donor reporting (for NGO) or business transactions/contracts (for SME) is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MISA).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to transparency.
  • Proficiency in English is preferred.
