About the Opportunity
On behalf of our client, we are hiring a
General Accountant to support their Finance team. Our client is an 80-year-old family-owned European company that produces
ULDs (Unit Load Devices) for the aviation industry . They established a new mechanical engineering factory in Vietnam in August 2025, expanding from The Netherlands , and specialize in
Pallet and Container products.
Joining the team as a General Accountant, you will handle day-to-day accounting transactions, inventory reconciliation, and cost accounting. You will ensure tax compliance and work closely with internal departments to maintain accurate financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process local and overseas vendor invoices and payments in ERP and Viindoo systems by matching original documents.
- Monitor and reconcile accounts payable balances and resolve payment discrepancies with Procurement, HR, and Production departments.
- Process customer invoices, issue daily e-invoices / Internal Transfer Delivery Notes, and record receipts based on sales orders, debit/credit notes, and shipping data.
- Reconcile inventory balances between accounting records, warehouse reports, production reports, and physical stock counts, then analyze and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate in production cost accounting & logistic, including cost calculation and allocation (direct materials, processing costs, packaging, transportation, etc.) and determine Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) by shipment batch / sales order.
- Book bank journal entries, perform bank reconciliations in the Viindoo system, and properly archive all accounting records in both soft and hard copies.
- Declare VAT, CIT, and Foreign Contractor Tax (FCT) to the government (except PIT which is handled by HR).
- Support period-end closing activities, internal/external audits, and tax finalizations.
- Ensure all accounting activities comply with internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
Job Requirements
Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Corporate Finance.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a General Accountant.
- Mandatory: Prior experience working in manufacturing or export companies.
- Strong understanding of tax, AP/AR, inventory accounting, and cost variance analysis.
- Proficient in Excel, with a preference for candidates who have ERP experience.
- English at CEFR level B2 or higher (Upper-Intermediate).
Soft Skills
- Careful, detail-oriented, with strong logical thinking and data analysis skills.
- Effective communication and team collaboration.
- Ownership and self-leadership in daily tasks.
- Ability to work remotely on Saturdays when there is urgent work.
