Job Description

Lead Sourcing & Supply Chain Partner

Outdoor/Indoor Furniture & Pottery (Vintage/Antique Aesthetic)

Location: Vietnam

About Us

Olive Ateliers is a fast-growing, founder-led lifestyle brand entering a pivotal next chapter. What began as a business rooted in sourcing and retailing vintage objects from around the world is now evolving into a design-led home furnishings company, with rapidly expanding proprietary collections produced through a trusted network of global partners. As we grow from a cult-favorite retail concept into a nationally recognized luxury consumer brand, we're building the supply chain engine that will power this next exciting phase of growth.

Overview

We are seeking a senior-level Sourcing Partner (Individual or Agency) based in Vietnam to lead supplier development and production management for our expanding furniture and ceramics business.

Our focus is on European 19th-Early 20th Century Vintage and antique-inspired collections, with an emphasis on reclaimed aesthetics, complex finishes, and handcrafted variability at scale. The mandate is to identify and manage best-in-class (Tier 1) manufacturers capable of meeting the quality and finishing standards of global luxury brands such as RH, Four Hands, CB2, Bassett, and Van Thiel.

This role is both strategic and operational—from factory sourcing and product development through to QA/QC and export execution.

Core Responsibilities

Supplier Sourcing & Network Development

  • Identify and onboard top-tier Vietnamese factories specializing in:
  • Indoor and outdoor furniture
  • Ceramics and pottery
  • Prioritize partners with strong export history and available capacity

Factory Vetting & Auditing

  • Conduct comprehensive audits covering:
  • Production capability and scalability according to our unique standards
  • Technical processes (including kiln performance for ceramics)

Product Development & Sampling

  • Translate design briefs into production-ready prototypes while working hand in hand with our design team in Vietnamese factories
  • Lead iterative sampling to achieve Counter samples approval
  • Ensure fidelity to nuanced vintage/antique design intent

Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC)

  • Implement multi-stage inspection protocols:
  • Initial Production Check
  • During Production Inspection
  • Final Random Inspection
  • Maintain consistency across hand-finished, non-uniform products

Logistics & Export Coordination

  • Oversee shipment consolidation, export documentation, and timelines
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders to ensure reliable delivery

Costing & Negotiation

  • Negotiate pricing to achieve competitive landed costs
  • Balance cost efficiency with material and finish integrity

Required Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • 7+ years sourcing furniture and/or home décor in Vietnam
  • Strong presence in key manufacturing hubs (Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Da Nang preferred)

Relevant Brand Exposure

  • Demonstrated experience working with brands such as RH, Four Hands, CB2, Bassett, or Van Thiel
  • Deep familiarity with their finishing standards, tolerances, and packaging requirements

Material & Technical Expertise

  • Woods: Acacia, Mango, Oak, Rubberwood, Teak, Pine, reclaimed materials
  • Finishes: Indoor/outdoor systems, multi-layer aging techniques
  • Ceramics: High-fired processes, glazing methods, kiln variability

Communication & Operations

  • Native Vietnamese fluency + professional English
  • Strong project management and supplier coordination skills

Supplier Network

  • Established relationships with reliable, export-ready factories
  • Ability to access suppliers with available bandwidth (not over-capacity)

Specialized Expertise: Vintage & Antique Finishing

Our brand is defined by a perfectly imperfect aesthetic. This requires technical mastery and artistic judgment.

Key Capabilities:

  • Distressing Techniques
  • Oversight of manual processes (Ageing wood and metal techniques such - hammering , wire-brushing, rasping, worm-holing, hand-planing) to ensure natural, non-repetitive results
  • Advanced Finishing and naming Systems
  • Management of 7–12 step finishing processes (stains, washes, glazes, topcoats) to achieve depth and authenticity
  • Material Behavior
  • Understanding how different woods respond to aging treatments and chemical applications
  • Ceramic Patinas
  • Ability to source and develop:
  • Old-world glazes
  • Salt-glazed finishes
  • Pitted, time-worn textures
  • Consistency at Scale
  • Maintain aesthetic cohesion across batches while preserving handcrafted variation

Ideal Partner Profile

You are not just a sourcing agent—you are a production strategist and finishing expert who understands how to translate imperfect beauty into scalable manufacturing.
