Role Description (Hybrid Working Model)
Reporting to theHead of Technology, we are seeking a developer who can contribute across online web and application development. Youll work closely with both in-house and offshore development teams, delivering scalable, AI-driven solutions.
Youll be hands-on with the latestAWS cloud and AI services(including Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenSearch, and generative AI integrations), helping us evolve our platforms to deliver intelligent digital experiences.
Were looking for someone comfortable in an Agile/SCRUM environment: managing sprint cycles, attending daily standups, and contributing to retrospectives. As part of the in-house IT team, youll also lend a hand with IT support and system administration when required, including occasional after-hours assistance during key deployments.
Responsibilities
Application Development
- Write high-quality, maintainable code with care and precision
- Mentor and support other developers
- Collaborate with Product to refine requirements and functionality
- Implement unit and integration tests for automated pipelines
- Troubleshoot and optimise AWS-hosted applications
- Participate in AI/ML integration projects usingAWS AI stack(Bedrock for generative AI, SageMaker for model training/deployment, OpenSearch for intelligent search)
- Support after-hours deployment and UAT where necessary
Team & Product Involvement
- Contribute to new product initiatives and innovation pipelines
- Leverage AI-driven insights to enhance user experience and platform intelligence
- Participate in sprint rituals (planning, standups, retrospectives)
- Help lead offshore standups when required
- Champion best practices in clean code, DevOps, and CI/CD automation
- Support the rollout ofAI-assisted development workflows
Documentation & Support
- Write technical specifications and update system/end-user documentation
- Assist with IT support and system administration as needed
Qualifications
Technologies
- Core Stack: LEMP (Linux, NGINX, MySQL, PHP), Laravel, Yii2, JS, Bootstrap, JQuery, CSS (.Less)
- Cloud & AI: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront), Amazon OpenSearch, Amazon Bedrock (GenAI), Amazon SageMaker (ML pipelines), Lambda for AI-driven microservices
- Collaboration: Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, ServiceDesk)
- Dev Environment: Virtualised Linux
Must Haves
- Strong AWS expertise (EC2, RDS, S3, caching, IAM)
- Agile/SCRUM methodology experience
- Ability to design, test, and deploy APIs and automation pipelines
- Experience with unit testing & automated QA
- Fluent English (oral & written)
