We are representing a global MNC logistics company seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Air & Ocean Freight to lead its freight forwarding operations in Vietnam.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day Air & Ocean Freight operations, covering both import and export shipments.
- Ensure smooth end-to-end execution including booking, documentation, customs clearance, transportation and final delivery.
- Manage and develop the operations team, driving productivity, service quality and operational excellence.
- Monitor operational KPIs, SLAs, shipment performance and cost efficiency, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
- Establish and continuously improve SOPs, workflows and operational processes.
- Manage relationships with airlines, shipping lines, co-loaders, transporters, customs brokers and other service providers.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Finance and regional teams to support customer requirements and business growth.
- Act as the key escalation point for operational issues and ensure timely resolution of service failures.
- Ensure compliance with Vietnam import/export regulations, customs requirements and corporate standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service performance and profitability.
Requirements
- Minimum 7–10 years of freight forwarding experience, with strong exposure to both Air and Ocean Freight operations.
- Proven experience leading an operations team within an international freight forwarding / logistics company.
- Strong knowledge of Vietnam import/export procedures, customs regulations and local logistics practices.
- Good understanding of carrier/vendor management, freight costing and operational P&L.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Good command of English and Vietnamese.
- Experience working within a multinational or regional environment would be highly advantageous.
