As the Operational Excellence Manager for Freight Operations at Giao Hng Nng, you will work closely with the Freight Operations Director to identify performance gaps, eliminate inefficiencies, and embed a culture of data-driven continuous improvement across the heavy & bulky goods network.
This role sits at the intersection of process excellence, performance management, and execution rigor. Your mission is simple but challenging: make operations better every day measurably and sustainably.
What You'll Do
1. Drive Quality & Operational Performance Excellence
- Own and monitor key operational KPIs: damage rate, loss rate, SLA, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major quality and service issues; define and drive corrective & preventive actions.
- Initiate and manage continuous improvement projects to reduce damage/loss and improve end-to-end customer experience.
- Partner with Ops teams to design and deploy a scalable, premium heavy goods delivery operating model.
2. Apply Continuous Improvement Methodologies
- Apply Lean / Kaizen / PDCA / DMAIC methodologies to improve freight operations performance.
- Map current-state vs. future-state processes and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, and inconsistencies.
- Standardize best practices and ensure improvements are embedded into daily operations, not just documented.
3. Enable Data-Driven Improvement
- Use dashboards and data insights as tools to identify improvement opportunities and measure impact.
- Work with Tech/Data teams to develop automated performance dashboards and exception alerts.
- Track benefits realization (cost savings, productivity uplift, quality improvement) for all OE initiatives.
4. Execute Cross-Functional Improvement Programs
- Work side-by-side with the Freight Operations Director to translate strategic priorities into executable improvement roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional projects involving Operations, Tech, Finance, HR, and Quality teams.
- Prepare executive updates, KPI reviews, and improvement progress reports for leadership forums.
5. Standardize, Scale & Sustain Excellence
- Lead the development and rollout of SOPs, operating standards, and performance governance across hubs.
- Establish a performance cadence: KPI reviews, problem-solving routines, and follow-up mechanisms.
- Drive change management to ensure adoption of new processes and tools at site level.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across the freight network.
What You Bring
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or operational excellence / continuous improvement roles.
- Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives with measurable results.
- Experience in freight, heavy goods, or large-scale operations is a strong advantage.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with hands-on experience in RCA.
- Solid working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets; SQL or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Data Studio) is a plus.
- Experience applying Lean / CI tools (Kaizen, PDCA, DMAIC, SOP standardization).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and levels.
