Job Purpose
The Ocean Freight Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating all ocean freight shipments, ensuring timely booking, accurate documentation, and smooth execution from origin to destination. The role focuses on operational efficiency, cost control, and high-quality service delivery to customers and partners
Key Responsibilities
• Arrange bookings with carriers in line with shipment requirements and approved allocation
• Prepare, review, and submit shipping documents (e.g., Shipping Instruction, Bill of Lading, and related documents) with accuracy and compliance
• Track shipment progress closely and provide proactive updates to customers and internal stakeholders
• Ensure full compliance with shipping regulations and customer SOPs
• Handle and resolve shipment-related issues, including delays, rollovers, documentation discrepancies, and claims, in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipment data in the system (CW1, OW)
• Ensure all shipments are executed within agreed timelines and operational deadlines
• Provide high-quality customer service by ensuring clear communication, timely responses, and effective resolution of issues
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, or related fields
• At least 1-2 years of experience in ocean freight operations or global freight forwarding (preferred)
• Good understanding of ocean freight processes, documentation
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and communication with overseas partners)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and work under pressure
• Proficient in MS Office
