RHS Job Title Forest Akers Golf Shop Attendant Job Description
Location: Forest Akers Golf Courses
As a Forest Akers Golf Shop Attendant, you will assist with the inside operations. You will be responsible for checking in golfers for golf rounds, selling merchandise in the pro shop, working the cash register, answering incoming phone calls, handling guest questions/concerns, and providing routine customer service. It is your job to support the Forest Akers office while interacting with a wide range of clients and customers.
Typical Duties Include
- Greeting golfers and customers.
- Answering customer questions, taking payments, and scheduling golf rounds.
- Answering phones and selling merchandise from the pro shop.
- Communicating with outdoor staff to resolve issues.
- General office duties/event prep as they become available.
Pay rate: $13.73/hr
Required Qualifications
- Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year).
- Demonstrate commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Must be a motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal), positive attitude, respectful, and the ability to work with a diverse population.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications

- Retail/Point-of-Sale Experience.

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs. and stand for the duration of shift.
Work Hours
Availability on weekends and holidays required.
Peak Season Hours: Shift start times at 6am and late end times at 9pm.
Seasonal Position: Schedules run from March to the end of October.
- During the school year domestic student employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week, and international student employees may not work more than 20 hours per work week
- During school breaks, between semesters, and during Summer semester, all student employees are permitted to work up to 40 hours per work week.
