RHS Job Title Forest Akers Food & Beverage Attendant Job Description
Location: Forest Akers Golf Courses
As a Forest Akers Food & Beverage Attendant, you will serve food and drinks to customers and clients at the snack shops, beverage carts, and golf banquet room. You will be responsible for preparing the food and drinks we serve and also putting them away at the end of a shift. After training, you must be knowledgeable of all relevant food safety regulations, standards, guidelines, and alcohol laws to ensure the safe handling and serving of all food & beverage. It is your job to support the golfers and guests of Forest Akers Golf Courses while providing outstanding customer service.
Typical Duties Include
- Greeting golfers and customers.
- Serving food and drinks, taking payments, and interacting with customers.
- Minor food preparation and bar-tending.
- Event/banquet set up and prep.
- Daily food safety operations and cleanliness.
Pay rate: $13.73/hour
Required Qualifications
- Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year).
- Must be 18 years or older as duties include serving alcohol.
- Must be a motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal). Be positive and respectful especially when working with a diverse population.
- Must be dependable and reliable.

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs and stand for the duration of your shift. Must be prepared to work in varying weather conditions.
Work Hours
Availability On Weekends And Holidays Required.
Peak Season Hours: Shift start times at 6am and late end times at 8pm.
Seasonal Position: Schedules run from April to the end of October.
- During the school year domestic student employees may not work more than 29 hours per work week, and international student employees may not work more than 20 hours per work week
- During school breaks, between semesters, and during Summer semester, all student employees are permitted to work up to 40 hours per work week.
