Financial Risk mission is to support Risk Management and Risk team to organize production of PVA financial risk management information according to policies, guidance from PCA to provide independent risk advice on the overall effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes and provide robust challenge to help PVA to deliver the strategy effectively.Job Responsibilities
Assist to organize production of LBU financial risk management information (MI) according to FRM policies, Group guidance and coordinate with Group Risk teams (related to Financial Risk) on any ad-hoc required inputs for quarterly financial risk MI update. Assist to coordinate with relevant first line function(s), including Actuarial, Finance, and financial risk due diligence/ model risk related business.
Support to facilitate the financial risk identification and assessment within LBU, ensure the risk definition and categorization defined in Group Risk Framework is properly followed.
Assist local compliance team to identify and escalate any local regulations which conflict with Group framework and financial risk policies to Group Risk team(s).
Support with the model validation and response to group requirements relating to internal model governance.
Assist to coordinate in escalation of financial risk issues and breach to financial risk appetite/limits, where required, in line with the escalation procedures prescribed in Group Financial Risk related Manual(s).
Support to monitor and report alarming FRM situations, outstanding issues and action plans for financial risk mitigations to LBU Risk Committee and Group Risk team(s), where required.
Assist to prepare local regulatory Risk Management report.
Support to involve upfront in the Risk-based Decision Making (RBDM) process [Product development, pricing, Business Planning, SAA, Re-insurance, etc.] to provide value-added advice & challenge in a timely manner.
Assist to collect information and prepare the financial assessment of potential partners due diligence.
Perform ad-hoc requests from time to time by line manager.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Actuarial Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/Finance in financial services.
At least 5-7 years of experience in Actuarial/ Finance and Risk management/ related role (Must be in Insurance/ Financial Services industry). Pre-experience with Insurance/ Prudential's operation would be preferrable.
Knowledge and skill:
Analytical skills: Be able to use analytical skills to identify patterns and potential shortcoming in complex sets of formulas and calculations to determine the risk factors that could have negative effects Be able to understand complex life insurance product features and identify potential risks and provide recommendation to mitigate if any.
Communication skills: Be able to explain complex technical matters to those without an actuarial / modelling background Can communicate clearly through the reports and memos that describe the work and recommendations Interpersonal skills and oral & written communication skills (EN/VN)
Computer skills: Be able to use and develop spreadsheets, databases, and statistical tools Understanding and able to use Prophet considering an asset Be able to use presentation tools to design, structure and present complex contents in a professional and transparent way.
Problem-solving skills: Be able to identify and define risks / problems and provide recommendation on the best course of action to solve / mitigate those risks/ problems.
