This role is in the Financial Reporting team, an integrated team with actuarial and accounting skillset. The Financial Reporting team delivers trusted reporting and insightful analysis to local PVA, Prudential Group and other relevant external stakeholders embeds pragmatic governance and control frameworks and drives internal performances and supports business decisions. The Financial Reporting team is not directly involved in the finance/actuarial operations or the production of the results and coordinates and collaborates with other financial and actuarial teams to achieve delivery and oversight of financial reporting.
This role is crucial in providing actuarial competencies and leadership for the success of the Financial Reporting team.
This role manages a small team of actuarial analysts.
This role provides the incumbent ample opportunities and visibility to work, collaborate and interact with a variety of finance and actuarial functions, both at local PVA and Group and also holistic experience in financial reporting for further career development.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage deliverables of actuarial and financial reports required by local regulators, Prudential Group, audit and internal management. In particular, provide actuarial reviews and challenges on the deliverables to uphold quality, completeness, fit-for-purpose, business insights, and timeliness. Propose and lead implementation of enhancement in or creation of new deliverables / underlying processes as appropriate.
- Liaise with Group stakeholders and other relevant PVA stakeholders, and act as the point of contact between Group and local teams on all matters related to financial reporting.
- Resolve or coordinate to resolve matters and issues in relation to financial reporting across teams within PVA and beyond PVA as warranted and contribute to driving improvements in financial reporting efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recommend, design and perform/manage analyses and investigations as required, and across teams as needed, with the aim of articulating driver of results, gleaning insights and supporting business decisions.
- Create/design and perform/manage cross-basis analysis and reconciliation.
- Analyse impact of changes in reporting requirements, standards, or bases, and lead initiatives to adopt and implement new reporting bases or requirements.
- Lead projects or initiatives as required.
- Lead the review of and drive the enhancement of processes, controls, policies, and governance frameworks relating to financial reporting.
- Drive the collaboration and engagement across wider teams involved in financial reporting.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of direct reports and/or other analysts in the team provide instructions and guidance on work related matters, and manage performance to agreed standards.
- Provide coaching, training and career development advice to direct reports and/or other analysts in the team.

- Quality, insights, timeliness and fit-for-purpose of actuarial and financial reports, that result in enhancement and improvement of financial metrics.
- Successful and timely resolution of questions and issues raised by Prudential Group relating to financial reporting.
- Efficient, effective and collaborative financial reporting processes allowing for adequate internal reviews and signoffs.
- Insights and analyses that support business actions and address management questions, that have direct impact on business results or financial metrics.
- Improved understanding of business drivers, that have direct impact on business results or financial metrics.
- Robust financial reporting processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Productivity and engagement of direct reports and/or other analysts in the team.

Job Requirements / Yu cu
Qualification:
- University degree in a major with significant exposure to actuarial, finance, mathematics or statistics.
- Associate of a recognized actuarial professional association is preferred.
Experiences:
- At least 6 years of relevant actuarial experience in a life insurance company, with experience in multiple aspects of corporate actuarial work, with particular emphasis on valuation and reporting.
- Experience in leading, training and coaching junior actuarial staff for at least 2 year.
- Experience in actuarial cash flow projection model and software (preferably Prophet)
