Job Description

  • Commercial Accounting & Reporting
  • Manage accounting, financial reporting and management reporting for commercial activities, including local sales, export sales, revenue, accounts receivable, sales deductions, rebates, discounts, commissions, freight and other direct selling expenses
  • Review monthly closing activities for revenue, AR and commercial expenses, including sales cut-off, accruals, reconciliations, provisions, credit notes and reclassification entries
  • Ensure commercial-related financial data is recorded accurately, completely and on time in compliance with IFRS, VAS, Group accounting policies and internal reporting requirements
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual reports related to sales, revenue, AR aging, DSO, collection status, overdue balances, working capital, cash inflow forecast and commercial expenses
  • Ensure consistency between commercial reports, statutory financial statements, consolidation packages, management reports and audit deliverables
  • Revenue & AR Recognition, Invoicing & Sales Cut-off Control
  • Review revenue recognition, invoicing, credit notes, debit notes, sales returns, rebates and discounts to ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting cut-off

  • Monitor unbilled sales, pending invoices, delayed billing, unmatched deliveries and unusual revenue movements
  • Review payment terms, Incoterms, delivery status and shipment documents to ensure revenue and AR are recognized in the correct period
  • Identify revenue reporting risks and escalate material issues to management in a timely manner
  • Accounts Receivable, Collection & Aging Control
  • Monitor customer balances, approved credit limits, payment terms, due dates, collection status and receivables aging across commercial entities
  • Control overdue balances and coordinate with Sales, Treasury and relevant functions to support collection activities and reduce credit exposure.
  • Lead periodic AR review meetings with Sales and relevant departments to follow up overdue debts, disputed balances, high-risk customers and collection action plans
  • Coordinate periodic customer balance confirmations and follow up reconciling differences until proper resolution
  • Review and monitor provision for doubtful debts / expected credit losses in accordance with Group accounting policies and applicable accounting standards
  • Customer Credit Control & Risk Governance
  • Review customer credit risk, credit utilization, payment history, overdue trends and collection performance
  • Provide recommendations on credit limit, payment term, shipment release, credit hold or management approval for customers with overdue balances or high-risk credit exposure
  • Advise on payment terms and AR-related clauses in sales contracts to protect the Group's cash flow and reduce collection risk
  • Maintain credit control reports and provide early warning indicators for material customer risk, abnormal payment behavior or unusual sales arrangements
  • Escalate significant overdue balances, high-risk accounts and abnormal collection issues to management in a timely manner
  • Commercial Deductions, Rebates & Direct Selling Expense Control
  • Control direct selling expenses and commercial deductions, including rebates, discounts, sales incentives, commissions, logistics costs, freight charges, promotional support and customer-related claims
  • Review the appropriateness, completeness and approval of commercial expense documents before accounting recognition and payment processing
  • Monitor budget versus actual spending for commercial expenses and provide variance analysis to management
  • Ensure commercial expenses are properly accrued, classified and allocated to the correct customer, market, product, entity and reporting period
  • Coordinate with Sales and Commercial teams to ensure rebate, discount and incentive schemes are properly documented, approved and accounted for in line with accounting standards and Group policy
  • Working Capital, Cash Collection Forecast & Management Reporting
  • Prepare AR-related working capital analysis, including DSO, overdue ratio, collection trend, top customer exposure, credit utilization and cash collection forecast
  • Coordinate with Treasury to align collection forecast, actual receipts, FX impacts, bank charges, trade finance, factoring or credit insurance matters
  • Provide analysis on revenue movement, sales by customer, product, market, channel, currency, payment term and collection performance to support management decision-making
  • Highlight key business drivers, abnormal movements, overdue risks and commercial issues affecting cash flow and working capital
  • Support management reporting, Board reporting and investor reporting where commercial, revenue, AR and working capital information is required
  • Knowledge and practical ability to apply receivables management and risk mitigation tools, including Trade Credit Insurance, Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantee, Factoring and Invoice Discounting
  • Process Standardization, Reporting Governance & Internal Controls
  • Develop, implement and maintain standardized SOPs, templates, control checklists and reporting packages for commercial accounting, AR control, invoicing, collection, credit control and direct selling expense control
  • Establish and monitor monthly closing procedures, submission deadlines, review procedures and escalation processes for commercial reporting and AR control
  • Identify control gaps in sales-to-cash processes and propose practical solutions to strengthen data accuracy, compliance and working capital management
  • Strengthen internal controls over customer master data, invoice issuance, credit notes, AR reconciliation, collection tracking, provision review and commercial expense approval
  • Drive standardization and documentation of commercial reporting workflows across Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, China and other countries where the Group operates or expands
  • System, Master Data & Reporting Automation
  • Coordinate the maintenance and optimization of ERP data, customer master data, AR reports and automated dashboards for commercial reporting and AR control
  • Work with IT/ISM, Entity Finance and business users to improve automation, reduce manual reporting, enhance data integrity and support faster management reporting
  • Define reporting requirements for system design, customer master data, AR aging, credit control, collection workflow, commercial expense tracking and management dashboards
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, data migration and post-implementation review for commercial finance and AR reporting modules
  • Ensure data integrity between ERP, sub-ledgers, BI reports, commercial dashboards, management reports and financial statements
  • Cross-functional Business Partnering & Team Leadership
  • Act as the key Finance contact point for Sales, Commercial, Logistics, Warehouse, Treasury, Tax and Entity Finance teams on revenue, AR, credit control, collection and commercial expense matters
  • Provide timely financial insights to support sales planning, collection planning, working capital management and customer risk assessment
  • Lead, coach and develop the Commercial Reporting & AR Control Team to ensure clear ownership, effective execution and continuous improvement
  • Allocate tasks, review work quality, monitor deadlines and ensure team deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • Build team capability in commercial accounting, AR control, IFRS/VAS reporting, data analysis, ERP usage, business partnering and stakeholder management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Having a certificate related to international accounting (ACCA, CMA, ICAEW,...) is an advantage.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the field of accounting and finance
  • Previously held a team leader position and have experience managing a team
  • Proficient in using office computers, have experience using ERP (SAP, Oracle...)
  • Legal knowledge: Understanding VAS accounting standards, IFRS, enterprise law, accounting law, tax management law, and legal documents related to accounting.
  • Systems thinking: identify and propose reasonable solutions to operational management using systems solutions.
  • Financial report analysis skills: sensitive in reviewing data, analyzing fluctuations in received reports.
  • Training skills: ability to communicate, train employees, and guide employees to perform assigned tasks well.
  • Leadership skills: ability to lead a team and work effectively with a team.
  • Proactive: proactive in working coordination between the Department and other Departments in the Company, to achieve common goals.
