Job Description

We are seeking for a Financial Accountant for our client who is an award‑winning digital transformation and custom software development company, headquartered in Australia, specialising in rapid application development and enterprise‑grade digital solutions. Founded in 2016, partners with government organisations and large enterprises to design, build, and modernise mission‑critical systems, leveraging low‑code platforms, AI‑enabled technologies, and agile delivery frameworks to accelerate business outcomes.

Position Overview

The Finance Accountant will support the CFO by taking ownership of core accounting and transactional finance activities for our client and assisting with regional accounting coordination across other ecosystem members.

This is a full time permanent position to relieve approximately 30 hours per week of workload from the CFO, enabling a more strategic focus.

Role Purpose

To manage and execute day-to-day accounting and finance operations (and other APAC entities as required), ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting. This role will also accumulate minimal office management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Transactional Accounting

  • Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll processing.
  • Record and reconcile bank transactions, payments, and receipts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments at month-end.
  • Support monthly closing process within T+4 timeline.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare trial balances, general ledgers, and month-end reports.
  • Assist with financial statements and group reporting to Alan Allman Associates.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (AASB/IFRS).
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Assist in updating cash flow projections and variance analysis.

Systems & Tools

  • Operate financial systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, and related platforms.
  • Support data integrity, accuracy, and system maintenance.

Administration & Set-up

  • Assist in establishing a local Philippines entity and finance processes when required.
  • Potentially act as company representative for the Philippines subsidiary once formed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA qualification preferred (or working toward it).

Experience

  • Minimum 4–7 years of accounting experience, ideally in professional services or consulting firms.
  • Experience working with Australian entities or multinational businesses.
  • Exposure to multi-entity, multi-region accounting preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting and month-end processes.
  • Solid knowledge of payroll and statutory compliance.

Attributes

  • Able to work independently and manage priorities across multiple entities.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Location

Near Ho Chi Min City in and close to District 1 to enable office access once the Vietnam entity is established.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reports.
  • Reduction of CFO transactional workload by 30+ hours per week.
  • Smooth, compliant month-end close within T+4 timeline.
  • Support establishment and compliance of Vietnam entity.
