Job Description

I. JOB PURPOSE

  • The Finance Assistant Manager supports management in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and cost control by providing timely, accurate, and insightful financial information. This role acts as a finance business partner to key functions, ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements, while promoting financial discipline, transparency, and efficient use of company resources to support strategic and operational decision-making.

II. ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Financial Approval & Compliance Control (RFA)

  • Assist RFA submitters in completing RFAs by giving advice, review, cross check, and challenging toward RFA if any concerns under finance scope to ensure the decision in RFA will comply with relevant laws and internal rules, and expense related to such decision will be adequate in terms of:
  • + in line with approved division business plan and budget; company's strategy and efficiency spending
  • + recorded and accrued as required under accounting principles

2. Management Reporting & Performance Insights

  • Conduct variety of reports including Monthly Expense Report, Monthly RFA Report, P&L Commentaries, Budget Spending, etc. with purpose providing timely, fact-based insights on cost, performance, and profitability, support financial resource allocation, prioritization and corrective.

3. Financial Analysis & Budget Monitoring

  • Provide Financial/ Business Analysis Reports to Exco Meeting on monthly basis, with translate numbers into financial/or business-related narratives and management commentary. Highlight variances, root causes, and ownership to support for Management's decision making
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc expense reports including variance analysis related to business partner functions, highlighting areas of concern/attention and follow up with relevant departments for proper actions
  • Analyze budget spending; expense forecasts and scenario analysis as required by Management, provide advice to Management for implementation of budget to be in line with company's strategy and efficiency spending.
  • Analyze expenses to understand the cost impact of key elements in the business, expense overrun then make recommendations to Management the solution if any inappropriate with purpose financial discipline, transparency, and compliance.
  • Assist Finance Manager in annual budgeting.

4. Finance Process & Internal Control

  • Review, design and maintain end-to-end finance process flows, policies, and standard operating procedure to remove out of date/ duplicate areas to gain resources savings
  • Act as control owner for key finance controls and ensure effective execution and documentation.

III. REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Auditing
  • At least 5 years working in Corporate Financial Analytics/Finance Partner Role/ Auditing
  • Experience in Insurance industry is an advantage.
  • CPA, ACCA preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Sound financial planning & analysis/ financial modeling/ budget control/ reporting.
  • Advanced MS Office.
  • Sun System, Q&A, VBA Preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Life Insurance knowledge preferred

Soft Skills

  • Good at communication, interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving, relationship management.
  • Responsible, eager to learn, proactive attitude
