Finance & Accounting Specialist (Vietnam)
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Finance & Accounting Specialist to oversee group-level financial operations for SecondTalent Group, while managing Vietnam-specific payroll and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Group Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Own the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for SecondTalent Group, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all entities.
- Manage the consolidation process, intercompany reconciliations, and elimination entries.
- Oversee the full general ledger, drive month-end and year-end close, and coordinate with external auditors for group-level audit purposes.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable reporting standards.
- Support multi-entity or cross-border reporting requirements as the group evolves.
Vietnam Payroll & HR Finance
- Administer end-to-end payroll processing for all Vietnam-based employees, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with the Vietnamese Labor Code.
- Ensure compliance with Personal Income Tax (PIT) regulations and compulsory social, health, and unemployment insurance (BHXH/BHYT/BHTN).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll queries.
- Manage PIT finalization and reporting with local tax authorities.
Vietnam Tax & Statutory Compliance
- Manage all Vietnam statutory obligations including:
- VAT
- Corporate Income Tax (CIT)
- Withholding tax
- Foreign contractor tax
- Prepare and submit periodic tax returns on time.
- Monitor changes in Vietnamese tax legislation and assess their impact on operations.
Business Analytics & Financial Planning
- Partner with leadership to build budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial models.
- Produce management reports and dashboards highlighting performance trends and variances.
- Conduct margin analysis, scenario planning, and ROI assessments.
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain internal control frameworks across group entities.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in financial processes.
- Lead improvements in financial accuracy, reporting timeliness, and automation as the group scales.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred
- 38 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- Experience with multi-entity or group-level consolidation
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP for group reporting
- Familiarity with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS)
- Solid understanding of Vietnam payroll regulations and tax law
- Proficiency in accounting software such as:
- Xero
- SAP
- Oracle
- QuickBooks
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
- Ability to build financial models and present insights to leadership
- Fluent in Vietnamese and business-level English
- High integrity and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple service lines, including:
- Staff augmentation / secondment
- Recruitment
- Employer of Record (EOR)
- IT services
