RHS Job Title Facilities Building Worker -Summer position Job Description
This posting is for Owen, Van Hoosen, McDonel and Shaw Facilities
Starting pay is $14.73/hr.
Residence Education & Housing Services is seeking Summer Facilities Building Worker team members to join our team!
In this role you will complete a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: painting, furniture setting and adjustments, floor care, conference & event set-up service, parking mgmt. welcoming guests, loading, and unloading, deliveries & pick up, student room and bathroom cleaning, handling customer requests, minor maintenance & repairs [i.e. Lightbulbs/toilets], disinfecting and sanitizing, trash and recycling handling.
You will learn skills such as time management, hands on facilities & maintenance experience and minor maintenance skills, managing multiple competing tasks, interpersonal communication, and working independently and as a part of a diverse team. You will also gain a deep understanding of how an large residential operation is maintained while demonstrating outstanding customer service.

Required Qualifications
- Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
- Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
- Able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications
Possess a valid driver's license and meet MSU driver certification requirements
Able to work variable hours including early morning, nights & weekends.
