Job Description

Responsibilities:

Serve as the Fabric Mill's technical authority for knit fabric quality, dyeing chemistry, and finishing performance. Own root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous cost-reduction initiatives across knitting, pre-treatment, dyeing, and finishing to ensure fabric quality, machine efficiency, and process effectiveness consistently meet customer and company standards.

Job Description:

  • Control Knit Fabric Quality: Apply deep understanding of knit structures (jersey, rib, interlock, terry, etc.) and fiber blends (cotton, polyester, spandex, etc.) to manage torque, shrinkage, and tension throughout production.
  • Manage Dyeing Chemistry and Color Accuracy: Apply advanced knowledge of dyestuff classifications (reactive, disperse, acid), auxiliary chemistry, and exhaust dyeing kinetics to ensure precise color matching (recipe generation, visual and data color evaluation) and conformity in physical lab testing.
  • Fine-Tune Machine Operations: Set up and adjust parameters on high-temperature jet dyeing machines and finishing equipment (Stenter, liquid ammonia treatment, brushing and shearing) to control and maintain quality standards.
  • Diagnose and Eliminate Fabric Defects: Fingerprint defects such as color shading/unevenness, crease marks, and stains (color, chemical, oil) and test and implement improved methods in bulk production to eliminate rework.
  • Execute CAPA: Implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions by isolating variables across knitting, pre-treatment, dyeing, and finishing to resolve quality issues at the source.
  • Isolate Mechanical vs. Chemical Root Causes: Distinguish structural knitting defects (e.g., barré, yarn mix) from chemical processing faults during post-dyeing audits to route corrective action to the right process owner.
  • Maximize Resource and Process Effectiveness: Analyze daily processes, dyeing curves, finishing set-ups, and utility usage to identify loopholes and implement solutions that reduce cost and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with knitting, dyeing, finishing, and QA teams, communicating technical findings clearly (in English where required) to align on root causes, corrective actions, and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Textile Engineering, Textile/Dyeing Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Knitting Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Solid technical knowledge of knit fabric construction, fiber blends, dyeing chemistry, and finishing processes.
  • Practical experience operating and fine-tuning high-temperature jet dyeing machines and finishing equipment (Stenter, liquid ammonia treatment, brushing and shearing).
  • Proven ability in fabric defect root-cause analysis, CAPA execution, and rework/cost reduction.
  • Good understanding of color science, recipe generation, and lab test conformity for physical properties.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across knitting, dyeing, finishing, and QA functions.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is an advantage for technical communication and documentation.
  • Detail-oriented, hands-on, and result-driven working style.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a fabric mill / knit dyeing and finishing technical role, ideally within a manufacturing or textile OEM/ODM environment.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is an advantage (a plus for communicating with customers, suppliers, and international teams).
