Job Description

Role & Responsibilities -

A) Mill & Supplier Management

  • Communication to mills and suppliers, acting as the liaison between the company, global market mills and suppliers, and worldwide manufacturing partners
  • Develop and maintain relationships with mills and suppliers to ensure successful business partnerships
  • Manage and work with mills from China/South Asia
  • Communicate with mills and related fields to have them service the organisation in the best possible way
  • Advise the organisation on sourcing constraints and technical parameters
  • Manage material supplier relationships, including maintaining the database, PO generation, bill clearing, and quality management

B) Sourcing & Development

  • Source, research, and develop fabrics originating from global markets
  • Manage both Woven and Knits across multiple fabric programmes
  • Shop the available market and secure fabrics for the factory as per requirement and within budget
  • Take sampling programmes from Business Heads / Team Leaders and provide the required fabrics
  • Develop products in line with business requirements
  • Ensure timely procurement and advise call-outs before proceeding with orders
  • Ensure proper information on pricing (at different quantity levels), lead times, and MOQs is communicated to Business Heads

C) Technical & Sustainability

  • Apply knowledge of the latest colour matching standards, dyestuff usage, and spectrophotometer operations
  • Ensure traceability and sourcing of sustainable yarns
  • Responsible for all product testing requirements, compliance, and internal quality standards
  • Set and manage quality assurance; evaluate and track mill and supplier performance

D) Planning & Reporting

  • Collaborate between brands, mills, and suppliers to meet calendar deadlines for fabric developments and bulk lead times
  • Manage and maintain pre-development WIP and bulk production WIP
  • Ensure proper MIS reporting to Accounts and Finance on a regular basis
