The opportunity

As a Legal Assistant, you will provide our clients with quality service. Our team provides commercial, corporate and partnership law advisory services, including corporate due diligence, corporate re-organizations, mergers and acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, transfer pricing, drafting commercial contracts and drafting employment policies and procedures.

Your Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support legal teams by providing comprehensive administrative and document management assistance. This role is integral in ensuring efficient operations within the legal department, allowing for seamless workflow and enhanced service delivery.

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, official letters, powers of attorney, advisory letters, and internal documents under the guidance of supervising lawyers.
  • Conduct legal research and compile relevant information to support the resolution of legal issues and ongoing matters.
  • Collect and organize documents, data, and information from clients or public sources for legal analysis and project support.
  • Support licensing and compliance procedures, including preparing application dossiers, submitting documents, following up on progress, and coordinating with government authorities as assigned.
  • Maintain organized filing systems (both electronic and hard-copy) to ensure accurate and efficient document management.
  • Assist in preparing advisory memo and reports for internal review before they are sent to clients.
  • Track deadlines, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of tasks and legal matters.
  • Coordinate with other internal EY departments as needed to support multidisciplinary projects.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality within the legal team.

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Law
  • Fresh graduates or having at least 1 year of experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, concepts, and administrative procedures.
  • Excellent English skills (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as Japanese or Chinese is an advantage.
  • Experience or exposure to investment, corporate matters, or business restructuring is a strong plus.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to prepare clear, well-structured documents and summaries.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal management or document management software is desirable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
