Expert of Valuation

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for standardizing valuation models, updating technical assumptions, and advising on financial analyses to ensure consistency, efficiency, and auditability across the product portfolio.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Standardize valuation models and technical assumptions across product portfolio

- Develop standardized technical frameworks for valuation models across all life products, aligning with organizational actuarial direction.

- Evaluate existing models for accuracy, logic integrity, audit compliance, and regulatory alignment.

- Recommend enhancements based on international standards such as IFRS 17, Solvency II, and Vietnam's insurance regulations.

- Build model validation protocols and apply them routinely or during audit cycles.

2. Financial consulting and inter-departmental coordination

- Quantify financial implications of valuation models on profitability, capital metrics, and product value.

- Provide expert advice to Product Development, Finance, and Risk teams for strategic decision-making.

- Serve as liaison between technical modeling and internal/external audit, reinsurance, and governance teams.

- Present model logic and assumptions to Product Committees or Executive Boards as needed.t

3. Working with external partners and developing internal capabilities

- Represent the valuation function in product reviews with Ministry of Finance or reinsurance partners.

- Negotiate technical assumptions and risk-sharing methods to ensure model fit for reinsurance contracts.

- Attend industry conferences to stay current with valuation trends and disseminate knowledge.

- Recommend advanced training programs (e.g. IFRS, modeling methodologies, financial analytics) for team development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Finance, or Applied Mathematics.

- Minimum 8 years of experience in advanced life insurance pricing or valuation.

-Recommended to be actively pursuing or completed 5 SOA/IFoA actuarial modules.
