JOB PURPOSE
The Expert, AOCC Operations leads real-time operational coordination, situational awareness, and information management within the AOCC. Acting as the AOCC Shift Lead, the role coordinates stakeholders, manages disruptions, supports decision-making, and ensures safe, efficient, and resilient airport operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
A/ AOCC Shift Leadership, Airport Coordination & Situational Awareness
- Act as the AOCC Shift Lead during assigned shifts, coordinating airport-wide operational activities under the functional authority of the Airport Duty Manager.
- Maintain comprehensive situational awareness across airside operations, terminal operations, passenger services, ground handling, technical and maintenance activities and airport support functions.
- Monitor airport operations, flight schedules, stand utilisation, passenger flows, operational capacity and emerging risks, escalating significant issues to the Airport Duty Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary coordination point within the AOCC, ensuring timely information sharing, effective communication and implementation of operational decisions.
- Maintain the airport operational log, operational information systems and formal shift handovers to ensure continuity of situational awareness and outstanding actions.
B/ Flight Coordination, Apron Management & Operational Information
- Coordinate flight activities and monitor aircraft arrivals, departures, delays, diversions and schedule changes based on information provided by airlines, airport systems and VATM.
- Coordinate aircraft stand allocation, stand changes, aircraft towing activities and apron operations in accordance with the Aerodrome Manual, applicable LoAs and Apron Management Service procedures.
- Monitor apron capacity, stand availability and operational constraints affecting aircraft turnaround activities, using approved FPL information to support operational planning and impact assessment.
- Act as the operational focal point for NOTAM coordination and operational information relating to infrastructure restrictions, planned works, equipment outages and operational impacts.
- Prepare and disseminate operational reports, briefings and situational updates and support airport operational trials, ORAT activities and operational readiness programmes.
C/ Disruption Management, LVP Coordination & Operational Recovery
- Coordinate airport operational responses to disruptions, delays, adverse weather, equipment failures, capacity constraints and IRROPs.
- Support the Airport Duty Manager in assessing operational impacts, identifying recovery options and coordinating resources, priorities and response activities.
- Coordinate implementation of LVP during assigned shifts and ensure stakeholders are informed of applicable operational restrictions and requirements.
- Support AOCC operations during AEP activations through effective operational information management and coordination with the Airport Duty Manager, Incident Commander and responding agencies.
- Participate in post-event reviews, operational investigations and lessons learned activities and support continuous improvement of AOCC procedures, disruption management and operational resilience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A/ Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Airport Operations, Air Transport Management, Business Management or a related discipline
B/ Work Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in airport operations, AOCC, airline operations control, apron operations, flight coordination or operational coordination within a complex operational environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an AOCC, Airport Duty Management function, airline operations control centre, apron management environment or comparable real-time operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating airport operations, flight activities, apron operations, operational disruptions, recovery activities and stakeholder communications.
- Experience supporting operational readiness programmes, ORAT activities, airport mobilisation projects or operational transition initiatives.
- Strong understanding of airport, terminal, airfield, apron and flight operations and airport stakeholder interfaces, with experience using AODB, FIDS, RMS, stand allocation systems and operational reporting tools.
C/ Certifications & Licenses
- Airport Operations qualification.
- ICAO Safety Management System (SMS) training.
- Emergency Management or Incident Management training desirable.
- Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) and Airside Safety training desirable.
- Airside Driving Permit (ADP) desirable;
