Solaris is seeking an Equity Research Lead someone capable of leading the research function, building research strategy, training analysts, and directly evaluating major investment opportunities in the Vietnamese market.

Role Overview

Lead the Equity Research Team

Build industry and thematic research strategies

Deliver high-quality investment recommendations with clear valuation rationale

Work closely with the CIO/PM to implement portfolio strategy

You will define Solaris research direction and be responsible for the quality of all research outputs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Management

Assign sector coverage to analysts

Train and review financial models, reports, and investment memos

Ensure report quality and timely delivery

Establish research standards and analytical processes

2. Company Analysis & Valuation

Directly analyze key companies

Build financial models (DCF, multiple valuation, scenario analysis)

Assess business outlook, risks, and catalysts

3. Investment Strategy & Thinking

Monitor market trends, industry cycles, money flows, and macro policy

Develop thematic strategies such as:

Consumer recovery

Banking & credit

Energy & infrastructure

Real estate & cyclical recovery

Propose high-conviction investment ideas

4. Portfolio Manager Support

Recommend entry/exit prices, target & stop-loss levels

Update investment thesis when company conditions change

Monitor portfolio weightings and risks

5. Reporting & Internal Communication

Prepare weekly/monthly market reports

Provide insights during major events (earnings, policy changes, etc.)

Join investment meetings with Leadership & PMs

Requirements

Experience

At least 5 years of equity research experience

Previous roles in: investment funds, securities firms, asset management, or IB

Preferably with experience leading a research team or mentoring analysts

Education & Certifications

Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Investment

CFA Level 2 or above preferred (Level 3 is a strong plus)

Strong financial modeling proficiency

Clear report-writing and communication skills (VN & EN)

Ability to build strong, logical investment theses
